Lifeless sideline, players standing by themselves

2nd quarter, down 17 and the broadcast team started noticing the quit in our team. Aikman and Erin Andrews pointed out how emotionless the Cowboys sidelines was and how players were quiet and standing by themselves. How can a team that got embarrassed in N.O. and a roster full of RKGs act like this? I thought this was a problem for the previous core, not the new one.

We got shell shocked and it was weird. I mean, I think Rodgers maybe spooks them. Cause one INT, then a long return and a TD, and everyone seemed to go into panic mode. I think the team watched the film, and really thought they were gonna crush GB. And the first two drives, it seemed like they were right. But everything kept going wrong. Cause they were "sniffing" themselves.

Lack of leadership.....

Edit from players AND coaches....
How does a team with Dak, Frederick, Zack, LVE, Jaylon, D-Law, Witten, Lee lack player leadership? These guys are always praised for their character, why didn't one of them step up and rally the troops? They're not paid only to perform, they're also paid to provide leadership to the team. Something is not adding up to me.

Just got out of a meeting where I was thinking about this. The level of arrogance is too high. They as a team feel they don’t need the attention to detail they would need if they weren’t as good as they are. And it’s cost them 2 games. Hopefully the reality check comments are met with the work it takes to clean up the mistakes In every facet of the game. Just my opinion though.

I think they'd bought into all the hype and believed they were world beaters like everyone claimed after the first three weeks.

New Orleans? That was just a fluke. And they were one play away from winning that one.

So getting their teeth kicked in shocked them and they didn't know how to handle it. This wasn't how the script was supposed to go.

We all know this team in this city doesn't handle success very well.

True character is shown when things go badly and I guess we saw the true traits of all those mentioned.... I agree it's mind boggling that they were not grouped up motivating each other.

Hard to imagine where that came from. The two main stories from training camp were

A. Zeke's contract
B. Every local tv/print reporter saying this is the best team since 95. (Which is laughable)

Jerry and Stephen's answers to B. were that yes it is the most talented team since the 90's...Jerry threw the 07 team a bone at least.

IMO. The 07, 09 and 14 teams would smoke this team.

This city and its media is so soft on this team it makes me sick to my stomach how people here coddle this team after a few wins. Just wait, after they beat the Jets the foot will be let off the gas peddle again.

That being said, I'm a little surprised this new young core hasn't done a better job policing the locker room. Nobody on this site bashed the players more than me 6-7 years ago with the previous core. I thought they were too aloof, mild-mannered, and lacked accountability amongst each other. I bought into this new group with Zack, Dak, Jaylon, Dlaw, Fred being wired different, so it's incredibly depressing to see poor intangibles starting to pop up with this team. We are already dealing with a coach that provides no schematic advantage on gameday now we have to worry about this? If that's the case, this is going to be a long season.

Ya think people who live in glass houses might apply here? Two O stars fumble in NO and the QB leader throws a pick that was behind the WR1.

They did mount a comeback so getting in faces wasn't necessary at that time but the D couldn't slow the Aaron's down and Rodgers has this mojo on the team at ATT, where he's never lost. Let him get that going and it definitely affects the team.

The other thing is that the team was exposed in LA in that playoff game and exposed with a soft underbelly that NO and GB both continued to expose as will PHL when they come to ATT. Every player on that team that was there last year recognizes it and it has not been fixed.

There is another issue here and I thought it would show up if the team suffered a little rough water. All this organization did in the off season was talk big money contracts, first with Lawrence, then Elliott, signed J. Smith and how have they played in the big games, numbering two so far. And all of the talk about Prescott's deal backfired with his last two outings. It's all been about the money, all the time and this was the worst off season I've ever seen with this team and I use that word loosely because I think it's a bunch of highly paid individuals.

The management of this team made sure that all these players heard about all during the off season and camp was money, money and more money. The Joneses made sure that's all they talked about and openly discussed dealings with agents and players.

Does this look like a team to you? Oh, they all do when things are going their way and playing powder puffs but when adversity shows up, who shows up for this team? Think the coaches can take over and rally the troops with the Joneses so hell bent on getting in front of the media constantly? The team is run by the money guys, not the football guys. It's all about the glamour of the game to them, not the guts of it. This has got to be all about becoming a football team again but I am doubtful of that because of the Joneses. They just can't shut up and back out and let the team try to come together.

I don't think they have a "lifeless sideline" problem.

I think they were just stunned. Reality can be a real kick in the teeth.
I know you attend games just fyi the thread title is a direct quote from the broadcast.

They had a discussion about how lifeless the team looked on the sidelines during the 2nd quarter.
