Hey guys.

I have a home in Carrollton that has somewhat low ceilings (at least by today's standards) and I'm trying to get some ideas on how to fix the overhead lighting; particularly in one room.

The ceiling is 8' even and the room is roughly 10' x 10', and has a ceiling fan-light combo.

There's nothing mechanically wrong with the fan/light it just doesn't light the room very well, particularly the corners.

Am I just going to have to use lamps to fix those dim spots, or do you guys have other recommendations?

Thanks

Included similar model fan/light to help visualize what issue might be.

If it would light the corners better, Would higher or brighter bulbs in the ceiling fan cause problems (glare on TV or in eyes) enough to not go that route.

You could use lamps. for various corners.

You could also have track lighting put in.

OR... Recessed ceiling lights in the corners

Also if you did the recessed lighting or track lighting throughout the living room and take the ceiling fan out all together if you did not just want some lighting in the corner with the ceiling fan in the middle.

One other possibly much cheaper and less invasive idea...

You could put some corner shelves up so far in each corner.
Make sure each shelve has a lip on the front.
Under each shelf get some of those cheap stick on lights that you can push to turn off and on so it shines down in the area but you would not see the actual lights....
