They are stuck with Dak. Also Payton won’t come here and fix him. McCarthy is a good QB coach so Dak is what he is. Moore has hurt the whole offense so getting rid of him should help a little but Dak will never be great. They just need him to be good. They also need to avoid him looking like yesterday. It was terrible. Lots of Dak haters here need to consider that as bad as that contract looks consider the Murray and Watson deals. All of this is moot because he is the QB for the next couple years. The QB draft classes look middling over the next 2 years. A couple studs at the top followed by a bunch of question marks. Some have good upside though. Rush sucks so he isn’t an option. My solution would be to draft a QB in rounds 2-4 for the next 2 years. Hopefully one pans out. If they are committed and scout well they could get a starter. Unless something changes Dak does not get another contract. It’s not going to be easy but they need to find a better long term option. Thoughts?

The talent on this team is not good enough to carry the non talent we have a QB.

It all boils down to that.
12-5 last 2 years. They had a great draft this year. IMO DT is the biggest need. WR also. The roster is pretty solid.

As long as Jerry is large and in charge, nothing is going to change.
We have a culture problem, and it starts with him.

I believe they were 100% into it.

Dak just isn't very good.
It's gotten to the point with the picks that I'm not sure it makes any difference if they just start Rush at QB. He was in over his head against the Eagles. But at least he didn't throw picks in every game.

Drafting their eventual starting QB outside of the first round is precisely what has lead to this 25 years of crap. No.

IMO the draft is a complete crapshoot for QB, first round or not.

And this team won't finish poor enough for a top 3/1st overall pick with the talent it has. And if it does, our luck the QB class would be similar to 2016 .

With each year I become more and more negative on Dak. There was a time when I said Dak was not elite, but he was good enough. Now, I am not so sure he is good enough. At this stage in his career we should not be seeing the kinds of games we are seeing from Dak as frequently as we are. Dak is showing us he lacks football intelligence. The QB is the one guy on the field where a lack of football IQ is amplified. But what do the Cowboys do about it?

First, you have to convince Jerry Dak is not the franchise QB Jerry believes he is. Jerry needs to know this because Jerry has to commit himself to finding Dak's future replacement - and he has two years to do it. When Dak's current contract is up he will be asking for even more money, more than the $40 million he is getting now. $40 million QBs don't have games like Dak played yesterday when a potential division title and #1 seed are on the line. If I am Jerry when Dak's contract is up and he is back for a new deal I would tell him no. I would tell him he didn't earn the money he got in his last contract so either he takes a pay cut or he can go find another team. The Cowboys need to play other players who are legitimate stars, like Micah.

Jerry won't do that, of course, he will pay Dak $50 or $55 million. Good young players will leave in free agency and the team will have a period of 6-11 years which we will blame on the coach, whoever it is.

Yesterday's performance by Dak was the worst I think I have ever seen from him. Worse than the 2019 collapse against the Eagles. QBs have to be at their best in January not throwing the worst stinker on the field.

Yes it's a crapshoot to some extent. But the numbers are what they are. You can take the route with the best odds of getting to a SB (draft a QB in the first round) or take the route that has worse odds. It's that simple.

Somehow philly managed to rid themselves of Wentz. Maybe we need to find a GM that can actually wheel and deal.

I will not accept that we are stuck with him. Jerry needs to be doing everything he can to fix the mistake he made 7 years ago by giving this team to Dak. It's almost like kamra for the disrespect to Romo that year.
