Yes it's a crapshoot to some extent. But the numbers are what they are. You can take the route with the best odds of getting to a SB (draft a QB in the first round) or take the route that has worse odds. It's that simple.
Sure. And the top QBs in this league, minus Brady have been taken in the first.
So, I don't disagree with your post, just that I hope the team doesn't reach in the first just because a QB fell down to pick 27 but has a lot of question marks.
Not too many late first QB's turn into Rodgers or Lamar Jackson that I can recall.

This turned out to be a meaningless game. A turd was laid. We’ll see if there’s a carryover next Monday.

Dak is the QB. The problem is that he is paid like a Mahomes when in reality he has never been that and will never be that. The entire problem here is the front office failing to understand what they have in Dak.

And next year is expected to be a deep draft for QB’s . It would give us a couple years to groom a heir apparent.

I'd agree your odds go down the lower you go, but it does happen. Fingers crossed they go this route someday.

Actually he’s paid like a Murray or Watson .

To think there was a time when we could have potentially got two first rounders for him.. doubt we will get a deal that good again.

Although.. there will always be a market.. Dak has a huge rep, sells jerseys.. has a winning record. There would be a team that thinks they can 'finish the cake'. I know he has a no trade clause.. but tell him he rides the pine or signs.. see how committed he is.

Or go out and find his replacement. Use next year as a transition and then see if you can flog Dak on the open market. Gotta be a sucker out there.

I don't know.

Jerry don't love Dak like he loves Garrett and Romo.

Dak might be (hopefully) easier to let go of for Jerry.
0-2 in the playoffs after giving Dak a record breaking contract. If that happens Dak’s days are numbered. At the very least Dak won’t get extended. If that happens the writing is on the wall like what happened with Russ in Seattle.

I agree. You just need one stupid/desperate/delusional owner or GM to take him. If the Eagles were able to get rid of Wentz with his contract - AND get a first rounder thrown into the bargain - who knows what's possible.

What some fans lose focus with is Dak provides Jethro his moneys worth with a relative and interesting product.

Jethro can sell the hell out of 12-5.

Dak is like 8th in guaranteed money now. By next season he will fall out the top 10.
Yep

Which will be more in line with his pecking order. As always initially when resigning a franchise QB you must pay market price .

Jerrah can but even the media is beginning to turn on Dak. The fans are sick of this narrative. The owner will have to something other then fire the coach.

The Eagles moved on from Carson Wentz 2 years into that massive contract they signed him to. 2 years later, they are the #1 seed in the NFC.

We are NOT stuck with him, or better yet we dont have to be

Somehow philly managed to rid themselves of Wentz. Maybe we need to find a GM that can actually wheel and deal.
To be fair you can’t compare Dak to Wentz. Dak is a much better player and a much better guy.

Dak and Kellen blend together like oil and water. He should not be expected to carry a team like some elite QB’s. Concentrate on building the best defense and run game possible and use Dak like SF uses their QB’s……minimal impact.

Dak will never throw his way through the playoff gauntlet. Dallas needs to somehow change their philosophy to salvage the last few years that he is here. KM is the odd man out here and needs to go, he has no idea how to use Dak.

I would like to see a QB drafted(2nd-3rd rounds) each draft until they find a keeper.
