Hes garbage anyway. Hes slow, has awful route running skills and could get covered by linebackers in the NFL.

Its just because he's a longhorn. If he played for USC you wouldn't hear any Cowboys fans want him taken 22nd overall. But because he wears the fallopian tube shaped mammal head on his helmet he HAS to be a great player. WAKE UP PEOPLE, Texas hasn't been good since VY left. Well, the fact that Colt McCoy is the QB is a big part, that kid blows.

I believe just about every Longhorn fan here has been saying Sweed is overated for the last three years but carry on with the aggie rant.

Yes he played tight end in the wing t in high school. He is a huge talent that had a good season when he had a good QB in Vince. He mad a lot of big plays the year they won it all. He is still learning the position because he was a tight end. I read an interview with him one time that said when he came to Texas he didn't know what most routes were much less how to run them. All his coach had him do in high school was just run deep. It worked so he never had to work on it. I am a huge horns fan so I am biased as I enjoyed watching him play. He made a hell of a catch against Ohio St. 2 years ago that helped them win the national championship. I don't think he is a first round guy but he will go on the first day. He has the talent so if he gets the right coaching and has the desire he can make himself be a pretty good receiver.

I agree. I am not a Sweed fan at all. I think some of our Horn fans should weigh in on the Sweed factor.

Its also hard to tell whether its gonna be a nagging injury. In my opinion we should steer clear of him in the first round and maybe look at him if he drops down to a later round. He did win us the game at Ohio State.

Limas Sweed, the Texas receiver on the South squad, slightly reinjured his wrist and will no longer practice or play. Sweed originally hurt his wrist in October and surgery was required to repair the damage.

I have watched alot of Texas games and my advice is to STAY AWAY.

Well I'm a long time reader of this board but just never come around to posting..here is a topic I can really talk about though and share some insight.

I went to high school and played basketball with Limas in Brenham and lets just say that the kid has reached his maximum level already. Never in my life did I understand the hype around him. His work ethic is super lazy and he never made one single big play his entire high school career. At UT he was a solid receiver, but nothing magnificent and nothing that warrants him being a first round pick.

People always wanted to compare him to Roy Williams but he doesn't even have half the heart that he did, and we all know Roy doesn't have much passion to begin with.

I have thought how cool it would be to see Limas in a Cowboys uniform because I could then say I hooped with him and guarded him in practice, but I'd only take a flyer on him after the fourth round.

Sweeds entire game reminds me a lot of Plaxico Burress when Burress came out of college.

He is a very raw receiver but he can go up and get a ball.

IMO he will be a boom or bust player.

Honestly I think we should take whoever NE wants because we can't draft worth a flip. We're better off getting FAs we have a better record. How about a sixth TE or a rb like Julius Jones, oh wait two more we picked. that BP and Jeff Ireland wow they are going to show em in Miami. Seriously can Wade be any worse than his predecessors...I can handle our playoff shortcomings but those draft busts like Carpenter just make me want to barf..
