I know some fans want him as the Cowboys coach, but I think he might be the guy to replace Kitchens in Cleveland. Mayfield has really struggled in that offense. If I was the gm/owner with my investment in Mayfield, I’d want to put him back in the timing offense where he had so much success.

If you had the choice, would you coach the Cleveland Browns or the Dallas Cowboys

Will the Browns get to play Big XII defenses? Or play with college rules? Or college hashmarks? Perhaps Mayfield just isn't a good NFL quarterback.

If you think you’re a great coach, you take the Browns incredible roster and a QB you know fits your system and you become a legend if you win.

If Riley ever goes to the Pros, the very first thing that will happen is that team (Browns, Cowboys, Panthers, etc) will adopt his offense.

But really hard to imagine Riley leaving the plush station he currently has to go to the Cleveland Browns.

Also, both Lincoln and his wife are native Texans too, btw. I suspect he could find a better situation than Cleveland for his family

They supposedly loved their time in North Carolina, and we know they love Texas, but Cleveland....yikes.

Perhaps, but I’ve seen arguments that he just don’t fit the system which is built on chunk plays. He has incredible accuracy based on timing and getting the ball out to quick reads. One guy said the longer the play goes, the worse Mayfield gets.

The Browns wouldn't be willing to pay a coach as much as OU. They are a notoriously cheap organization.

I hope he stays at OU. He is off to a great start there. If he leaves now, he will just be a cliff note with OU football. He is so young. Stay there for 10 plus years, maybe win a title and then move to the NFL.

I am not an OU fan either.

I’ve been to Cleveland multiple times and it’s awesome. I suggest you stick to things you know something about.

I visit a couple times a year. Great town. Feels like a gateway city from the northeast to the midwest

Well, I did live up there for 8 years.
Have a TON of relatives up there and my brother was born there.
So there's that.

Anyway, I know Cleveland has some nice areas and find myself defending it more than not. I'm looking at my son playing Box right now with a kid who's dad was born and raised there and a die hard Browns fan.
Don't tell me I don't know much about Cleveland.

Just speaking from a Texas perspective. You can poll Texans and I bet Cleveland isn't high on their list of destinations....especially during late football season. In fact, I would predict it would be in the bottom 4-5 destinations among NFL city locations. Doesn't mean it's a bad place. It's a comparative thing.
And then there is the franchise in general.

I went up there for a game it’s a nice under the radar place. And there’s a great lake there to boot...

It was the first game of the season back in 2007 or 2008, Boys vs Browns. The weather was nice...
Makes sense
Sept is nice there, as is all of summer. Sure beats summer in Big D.

I just hope he leaves OU.....would love to see the big 12 competitive again and stop seeing OU sneak into the playoffs only to get slaughtered....again

I’ve also driven thru Ohio and PA during snow and rain so I know it can be brutal, but just like anywhere else, sometimes it’s nice to see different scenery at different times of the year.

If he brings his D coordinator that was coaching today with him I sure hope y'all hire him! :D

But I agree, Cleveland makes sense.
