The last few years I noticed something very unusual.

The beginning of Daks career under Linehan I recall a decent number of close games he won, even if he was down at the beginning.

2019 and the boy genius appears. Since 2019 I've noticed that the game is usually decided by half time. If the cowboys are up 10 or more it's a guaranteed win. If the cowboys are down 10 or more, it's a guaranteed loss. Basically the Cowboys are front Runners. And that seems to coincide with Moore taking over.

If Moore is allowed to design the offense, but McCarthy calls the plays would you be good with that? I know I would. The issue with Moore seems to be he doesn't know how to counterpunch.

no matter how good or bad the play designs are, the QB is ultimately the reason a play fails or succeeds. good/bad reads, accurate/inaccurate throws, check in/out of plays

Its hard to win in this league if you are down 10 at half time, I'd say your 10 or more assessment applies to most of the league. During Linehan's career our defense was borderline horrible at times, if you are indicating Linehan might have done more this year with what we had I might just agree with you on that. I think McCarthy should be more involved with the play calling. But you know what they say, be careful what you ask for, we could end up going for it on 4th down every play and using all of our time outs by the end of the 3rd quarter.

McCarthy doesn't know Moore's plays. How could he call them?
Being the HC , especially coming from the offensive side of the ball McCarthy should be fully aware of the offense Moore is designing. MM has a call sheet with him like most head coaches(no it's not a restaurant menu lol). So when Moore calls a play McCarthy knows exactly what it is.

There are plenty of examples to show how a good offensive mind can lift up his quarterback, and when paired with the right one, they can be dynamic.

No so w/Moore. There's no synchronization whatsoever.

McCarthy doesn't know the details of each play I am convinced of that more has some flaws in his play designs McCarthy sits in the meeting rooms all week long doesn't help more correct any of the play design issues and just lets more call whatever he wants. For the most part it looks like McCarthy just mailed it in

McCarthy is just there for a paycheck.

If McCarthy mailed it in, I'm sure that has to do with the culture Jerry has created and maybe even some resentment. I get the impression Moore was forced on MM. Big Mike has always called the plays even though he had an OC. He comes here and doesn't interfere with Moore at all(who is still new to the OC position). Jerry has also made some "odd" comments about McCarthy's status about being the coach of the team. With that said, Big Mike wanted a job real bad so this nonsense is what he signed up for. So he definitely has to take "some" of the blame. But this is a situation Jerry creates.

No matter how good or bad the play design is...if you can't run the ball and your OL is a penalty waiting to happen, there is no qb in the league who can consistently excel in that environment.

I think McCarthy should've been calling the plays of his offense from the beginning. Moore is a good offensive mind but he's not good at adjustments and loses all balance when the team is down. I like the guy and hope he gets better with more experience but this situation was not handled properly at all.

Moore is in the Linehan family tree...let that sink in
While that's true, he doesn't seem to call plays the same way. Linehan along with Garrett had a "beat your man" mentality. Therefore when Cooper got here, he was getting a lot of touches because he beat his man and got open quickly. With Moore, it seemed he's very creative in his designs and not player specific though. With all that creativity, getting your best player the ball needs to be included in that. I'm not saying Linehan is better, it's just a matter of him being more experienced.

Interesting concept that hits on just what Moore is supposed to be able to add the most with - new scheme concepts.

Mr. Yards Are Yards Moore seems lacking in strategic sense.

My impression as well. Scheme being his best skill, Moore makes it all about scheme, and has yet to add player matchups into his equations.

Also matters if QB checks into wrong play because they’re confused by disguised D.
