I don't know about that....Ro was consistently a a step late last year...his thing was being an intimidating hitter

McClain gives you something in coverage. Tulloch does not. Ro may not be a top pass defender but this unit is still better off with him on the field in the nickel. Tulloch is not that.

You wanna be a two down LB in this league then you better be a ST player.

I think we'd be better off letting our youngsters get their feet wet during our two suspensions to allow them a fighting chance to develop.

I don't think 2 down LB's have much use in the NFL right now. Not totally off topic but I think if Church wants to make the final 53 it might be as a nickel linebacker.

Reminds me a lot of what signing Barron Wortham was like at this stage of Tulloch's career. Solid player, but I question the fit in this defense. I would rather see what Damien Wilson can do.

Wilson is a guy I expected much more from. Hope we see it this year

Old, slow and undisclosed injury. Uh, no thanks.

Anything is better than nothing.

That's not true at all. There are assets and then there are liabilities. We don't want to add players that will be liabilities, it's better to just not have those type players on the roster. So the question is, which is Stephen Tulloch? The Lions considered him a liability for cap space reasons, according to the article.

Church has the SS spot locked up.

Doubt he'd come in to compete for a job, and I doubt he'd take depth kind of money either. So no thanks. If we can get him on a 1yr vet minimum type of deal and have him split snaps I'd be up for it but he's probably looking for a starting job and a decent contract. At his age and skillset I'm not interested. We have a guy like that in Gachkar to be honest who is way younger and more athletic.

I agree with Broaddus, this guy ran a 4.86 as a rookie, was never more than a short zone guy, and now is 31. He's also under 5-11, just doesn't look like a Marinelli LB at all.

I hear what your saying but what is a Marinelli LB since coach Rod has been here how many LB has he developed other then Sean Lee. Anthony Hitch after his rookie year looked promising but last year took a step back.

There are no good 3 down lbers available to replace McClain so you have to look at what's available and what the team really needs. I would say a good 2 down run stuffing MLB could be useful to have in case none of the young guys develop. There are several players on the team that can replace the MLBer on passing downs and offer better coverage. I don't care who it is that they sign, but they need another vet MLBer in case the young pups aren't up to the task.

I'd rather go with some of our younger guys.

I agree. Lee and Hichens will likely man the WLB and MLB spots. If these other younger LBs cant even be viable options at SLB and as backups to the vets, why are they on the roster? Wilson and Nzechoa were both draft picks.

I want to see Wilson in action.
