Lions willing to let Megatron go in order to keep Suh

It would cost the Lions $20 million in dead money to cut Johnson. If they designate him a June 1st cut it would cost them $8 million this season and $12 million in 2016.

Calvin Johnson: I’ll do whatever I can to keep Suh in Detroit

Once the final seconds ticked off of their playoff loss to the Cowboys and kicked off their offseason, the Lions’ thoughts turned to defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh.

Suh is set to become a free agent next month if the Lions don’t sign him to a long-term contract or franchise tag him at a potential cost of $26.9 million. Wide receiver Calvin Johnson would like to avoid that possibility and pledged to help the team out in their attempt to hold onto one of the league’s best defensive players.

“I’ll do whatever I got to do,” Johnson said, via the Detroit Free Press.

If I have to choose between an All Pro DT and an All Pro WR, I take the DT almost every time.

What if Dallas decides to let Dez walk, so they can use that money to sign Suh? It is an interesting choice.

lol imagine if Dallas got Calvin Johnson AND Adrian Peterson. With Dez and this o-line I'm pretty sure we would never be forced to punt the ball.

We already don't have enough footballs for the weapons we have. Gotta help the D.

I know I know. I'm just saying it'd be crazy because we'd have arguably the two best WRs and the best RB. I wasn't saying we do it.
