That RB list is LOADED with over the hill guys. If this Murray injury gets more serious and we have to make a call I really hope the Jones's do their homework.

Looking at that list I see the player's downside of the salary cap. Most of these guys would still be on rosters except for the salary cap.

I would really consider bringing in Jerrel Powe. He was supposed to be a great NT but was as smart as a box of rocks . Maybe playing in a simple scheme like Kiffin's would allow him to play football instead of thinking so much. He showed up in shape in KC and has only been out of football for a month and a half. The boys should bring him in and kick the tires. His size might help in obvious running downs and he would allow Hayden to take a breather. People don't realize it, but Hayden has had the largest workload on the DLine.

I liked greg romeus coming out but haven't followed him so don't know what his deal is. Bernard scott is a decent running back. I also noticed three longhorn DTs, hampton, okam, and randell which is disappointing for my own reasons.

If Romeus is healthy, then I am all for trying him out. But Andre Carter or Juqua Parker are more immediate impact contributers IMO. Maysonet and Rainey are also really interesting RBs and would add a dimension to the current RB corps, pure speed and/or agility. Cowboys currently have a lot of straight line-ish physical runners, except for the injured and fumble prone Dunbar.

But if Cowboys want a RB who can come in and run short yardage, pass protect and even run block, I say sign J Lane.

Of the DTs, I still like Seymour the best, but Jarron Gilbert was supposed to be the next Jason Hatcher (in terms of athleticism and size) and has experience playing for Marinelli.

I realize with the suspension at NC and being injured he's missed a lot of time and maybe it's taking him a while to get back into things, but for him to be bouncing around the league like he has been lately, there must be some serious red flags with Austin. Especially considering all the raw ability he had coming out of college. Selvie was once considered a top prospect and bombed and now he's finding a role. Maybe Marinelli can work wonders with Austin as well.

Yes I would like to bring in Marvin Austin as well. I know he has been cut twice already, but he would be worth a look. If nothing else is physical skill set is built for this scheme which stresses penetration and at least he is in shape and healthy.

Good call on the Marvin Austin replies - He is now a Dallas Cowboy. I was going to add to this post previously, regarding Marvin Austin, Stefan Charles (Titans practice squad) and Everett Dawkins (Viking practice squad).

I did a lot of research on all three. I really like Stefan Charles and Everett Dawkins as well. However those 2 are on practice squads and the other teams could counter to keep those players with them....Much like the Packers tried to grab WR King off of Denvers practice squad last week. However, the Broncos quickly countered by releasing another player off of their 53 and moving King up to theirs.

I would like getting those 2 off of their respective practice squads. I think both would add a lot to Dallas for rotation and development purposes for the future - as well as to keep our DL fresh towards the end of the year.

I knew very little about Stefan Charles, but am really liking everything about him via a lot of research.

Cowboys had interest in all 3 players per what I have researched. I already wrote about Dawkins (3rd round grade on Cowboys board). I'll update info of Stefan Charles as soon as I can (Cowboys were listed to have had interest in him pre-draft - He was in the CFL).

As far as Marvin Austin, Marinelli researched him very thoroughly before he was drafted. Here is the old article for those interested. It's a good read:

I'll try to post more info on Stefan Charles as well for those interested - As soon as I find the time.

Almost forgot: I like Jerrell Powe as well. I'll post info on him as soon as I can. Never hurts to have plenty of info on players beforehand in case of injuries etc.

I like Powe and I was on a light campaign for him to be added. Adding Austin is a good move.
