There was a thread (by lane) going on an old AC/DC concert .
This got me thinking maybe we could get thread going on best live events ever attended.
So....

List your Top 5 Live Events (Music/Sports/etc) that you've ever attended.

Maybe they were the best acts or teams, or maybe they just meant the most to you.
The older you are, probably the harder this will be.:oldcouple::yourock:
But everyone, all ages, have some great ones....hopefully.

What were your favorites?

1) Red Army vrs Montreal Canadiens. Dec 31. 1975
2) Roberto Duran vrs Sugar Ray Leonard. June 20. 1980
I paid 3 dollars Canadian for standing room for the greatest hockey game ever played. Beat that!

I've seen quite a few country music concerts, from George Strait, Garh Brooks, Merle, Cash, Willie, Waylon and many others, but my favorite has to be watching the Eagles at the Alamodome in the early 90's.

My favorite football games were my first varsity district championship. We sold 11,000 tickets for an 8,000 seat stadium. Won it 21-20 in overtime. First title at that school in over 30 years.

My second favorite was the following week, won the schools first playoff game in over 40 years in front of 14,000 people, including my dad. First football game he ever went to. Never saw me play as a player or coach until that game. He was always against me playing, but he got hooked after that game. He's even a Cowboys fan now.

Probably not great examples, but they are my favorites.

Oh, i forgot. I went to a Monday Night Raw at South Padre Island. Sat in the front row and had verbal controntations with Heartbreak kid and Diesel. Pretty cool night. HbK is tiny.

There's so many, I don't know where to begin.
But "best attended" may not always be most famous attended. Some of these has sentimental value and these aren't necessarily in order.

Sports
  1. NCAA Final Four Title game: North Carolina/ Michigan. 1993 in New Orleans. I'm sitting 8th row, foul line extended, across from where Chris Webber calls the infamous timeout. I'm sitting with a fellow UNC buddy behind Jerry Tarkanian and two seats down from Nick Nolte. Epic game and weekend.
  2. NBA Finals (2011 in Dallas): Mavericks beat Heat to go up 3-2 on way to NBA title
  3. Summer Olympics (1996 in Atlanta). Opening Day ceremony..great but crazy week in Atlanta
  4. Stanley Cup Finals (1999 in Dallas): Stars beat Sabres 2-0 on way to Stanley Cup Title.
  5. World Series (2011 in Arlington). Rangers beat Cards to tie series 2-2
Concerts
  1. Van Halen--1984 Tour ...saw this in Biloxi..great night, then on to Panama beach for a memorable weekend )
  2. AC/DC--Back in Black Tour...saw this in Norfolk, Va. pretty legendary show
  3. Pearl Jam--"10" Tour....in Dallas at tiny venue called Trees
  4. U2--October Tour...mainly this was the venue..on a Riverboat in New Orleans.
  5. The Police--Ghost in the Machine Tour....Baton Rouge...great fun

Bigdog's cheating with the family stuff!
Good choices!
I know but I had a lot to choose from. Been to many concerts and sporting events. Probably the biggest event that I didn't attend but my parents were at is when the 1980 US Olympic Hockey team won the gold medal against Finland. 2 days after the greatest upset in sports history.

Not necessarily in order and I've thrown in a sixth
Celtic v Rangers in a game we had to win to have any chance of winning the title and won with about the last kick of the ball. We did go on to win the title that year.
Celtic v Barcelona the night we beat them in the old UEFA cup
Scotland v Holland, first leg of a qualification playoff in Glasgow. We won 1-0 and then me and a mate went from there to a Skid Row gig in Scotland tops and kilts, one of the best days/night outs I've had. Try to forget that we got pumped 6-0 in the second leg in Amsterdam
Marseille v Sochaux when my now wife was living in the south of France. Was the game when Marseille qualified for the champions league for the first time in 9 years or so. Atmosphere was electric.
Metallica in a tent at the Download festival at Castle Donnington and then Iron Maiden headlining the main stage.
Went to see Rammstein in 2004 which was one of the best live acts I've seen.

1. Kings vs Ducks at Honda Center (2014), Stanley Cup playoffs. Gabby scores with .08 seconds left, to tie it up, and we win in overtime. Kings fans took over the Honda Center. We go on to win the cup.

2. Tool (@alicetooljam) live at the Pearl. A small venue inside the beautiful Palms casino in Vegas. (2006)

3. Dave Matthews Band at Hollywood Bowl (2007) (@crashintonickdm)

4. Liddell/Ortiz 2 at MGM (2007)

5. Every Angels and Kings game I go to with my little Angel (my son, Bradley) :) -- this is actually, probably, number 1. It's every year, so it isn't one game. But if @Bigdog gets to use getting married and the birth of his precious babies, I get to use this :laugh::laugh:

Hard to top #5 for sentimental reasons for sure, Sir Trout

Reminds me of 2011 NBA Playoffs. In the early rounds, the mighty Lakers were supposed to dispose of the Mavs. Mavs got really rolling and eventually won the whole thing.
But in the early round close out (sweep) game vs LA in Dallas, the arena was deafening and truly electric.

I had my then 3 year old son (Adam) with me and decked in Mavs gear. (Glad he had ear-plugs)

For some reason the video and TV people fell in love with him and he was on the big screen a bunch of times throughout the game.

At the very end, he was wiped out and fell to sleep in my wife's arms? The big screen caught that to.
Hilarious...cute too. Definitely a keeper, memory-wise!.

That's a beautiful story, JC! Bet it will always be a cherished moment for you and yours.

We used to use ear plugs for "Bing Bang Fridays" at Angels Stadium when my little one was small, he would freak out at the fireworks show post-game.

Also have taken him to several Monster Truck events at Sam Boyd stadium in Vegas... there it's earmuffs, plugs aren't enough :D

They grow up way too fast. I try to cherish every moment I have with them especially now since they are teenagers and would be with their friends than their old man
