Listening to Campo

Does anybody else get those bad "old time" feeling listening to him? Kinda reminding you of those 3 freakin' 5-11 seasons?

Just something about his voice I guess....

Quite the opposite. It makes me remember the good old days when he was an assistant coach and we were winning Super Bowls.

In fact, I was just watching the highlights from Super Bowl XXVII the other night and there was footage of young Campo firing up the troops during the game!

I don't know but with all the roar over Campo not being a Wade guy, I find it weird. There was one moment in that little press conference when I thought Oh Yeah Campo is definitely a Wade guy.

When asked about Roy Williams he said something along the lines of "Well he made the Pro Bowl so he must be doing something well." (Sounds Like a Wade Line to me)

I can't listen to him because I don't want that feeling back. They interview him I will leave the room. Articles about him, I will skim down through them and see if there's info on other stuff.

I will change my mind if he revitalizes the secondary, but for now I just can't stomach it. Understand something, there are coaches I dislike and he is not one of them. I feel he got a bad deal in a lot of ways. Doesn't change anything. I don't want to know what he's thinking...nothing.

I hear ya.

I also just keep remembering when Charles Haley was saying he was so mad at Campo at halftime just saying "You're not giving enough effort!". Haley was just furious at him.

If I remember right, his PC's back when he was the HC was all about "effort"....it made me sick.

He may have gotten a bad deal about being a "puppet" but that is on him....he should have grown a pair.

So, because he's back to the position he was at while we were winning SBs that makes you think that we're going to revert to the environment when he was HC and we weren't winning anything?

That wasn't my logic....I was just referring back to the times when he would talk during his time as HC.

I don't know how you went as far as to think that we would go and revert to how the team was when he was HC.

The question I have is why was there a PC for a position coach?

A press release with a short paragraph announcing his hiring was all that was required?

He's just a secondary coach. Why the PC?

I don't see the relevance though. What does it matter? He's not HC. He's not going to be doing what you saw him doing during the PC.

Campbell will be (oh, sorry...I thougt Phonenix-Troll was in this thread)...I mean Campo will be a good coach for the secondary. He was not a good HC coach and I remember someone saying that when he would try and yell at the team for a mistake when he was the head coach that Ellis would just reach down and "scratch him behind the ears" and keep doing what they were doing in the first place!

Negative? I'm fine with him being here...holy cow....I mentioned his VOICE bringing back bad memories of 3 straight 5-11 seasons and was wondering if it did that to anybody else? If it doesn't for you, why reply?

Sorry, I thought bringing back memories of three 5-11 seasons in a row typically fell under the negative category.

Yeah. This whole forum, and others like it, would be on a rampage of anti-JJ sentiment, and it would be well deserved.

I'll take my one PC of Campo all year, and if that's all I get to remind me of three 5-11's I'll be a happy camper.
