I think it was the Dan Patrick show (not sure because I was in and out of the car all day) where I heard this .. they were talking about the Commanders new receiver group all being short players receiver-wise.

They referred to them as "the smurfs" :)

I know the people in cars around me thought I had lost my mind when I start laughing like crazy after hearing this .. I just kept picturing all of them singing the smurf theme, "lah lah lalah lah lah .. lah lalah lah lah" with Daniel Snyder as Papa Smurf and the rest of the team constantly asking, "Are we there yet?" :D

Anyone who didn't grow up watching the smurfs won't fully appreciate this ..

The Commanders WR's of the early 1980s were also known as the Smurfs

You know, that group that beat you all in the 1982 NFC Championship game ;)

Regardless, you can look at the Patriots WR corps for there 3 Superbowl teams. 5'9, 5'10, 5'10 and 6'0. Not exactly the stretch armstrong crowd there either

I really doubt that those little guys can last a full season without some broken bones- especially if they get sent over the middle much.

Dan Snyder isn't tall enough to be Papa Smurf.

That is some funny stuff would be funnier if you found some midget skins.

I have to say I remember Clayton and Duper lighting up the league for years.
