Interesting stuff by Colin. Worth a post I thought. Colin stated (like he has been all along this year) that he really likes Dallas overall. Dallas and Atlanta are very under-valued. Buffalo is very over-valued.

I was surprised when Cowherd said that he picks Green Bay and Dallas to be in the Championship game this year. :eek: I still need to see some more before I go that far. Out of the question? Absolutely not. But I'm not predicting anything like that.

Still like our team, but there is a lot of season yet to be played. I do like the direction we're going.

Atlanta needs to get back to running the ball consistently. I still have questions about their defense.

There have been questions about Atlanta's defense for 3 years now.

Exactly. Atlanta has no D. I wouldn't say they are undervalued.

Yet they give up half their draft to move up and get a WR. Amazing...and we accuse our brass of not addressing our needs each offseason.

Yeah, I didn't get the Atlanta pick. His reasoning was... smart QB... smart coach... getting things fixed. I was a little shocked that he did not mention the Saints during his rant. He even made mention of the Giants being a pretty good team.

My 6 teams (no particular order) that have a shot in the NFC are:

Packers
Saints
Cowboys
Falcons
Lions
Giants

He's been on our bandwagon all year. Maybe I'm drinking the kool-aid but he makes a lot of valid points. This team has the feel of one that is about to go on a huge run. All of the so-called "experts" that pick Philly to win this weekend conveniently forget to mention how well our defense has been playing. We found a kicker, a 3rd receiver and possibly a lead RB. Things are starting to come together for us.

Here is the problem, the Falcons were a run based team. But they move up in the draft to all of sudden become more of a pass oriented offense. Problem is, they overrated Matt Ryan to actually be able to carry the offense at that level.

I believe if Dallas can get on a roll here and start to build confidence and show themselves, and others, what they are capable of doing that making an NFC Championship game this year is not out of the question.

The most important thing right now though is to simply focus on beating the Eagles on Sunday night.

Play each week as if it's the last shot you've got and let the rest of the stuff sort itself out.

I wouldn't rule it out. But there's a long bumpy road to travel between now & then. People are quick to point to our schedule softening up but you wait, there will be some games on there that look easy now until that opponent awakes from its slumber like we believe the Cowboys are capable of.

Fans often want to believe other teams are either a) worse than their record b) no better than their record. And at the same time believe their own team is better than its record.

All that said, I am hopeful regarding the Boys. ;)

If by a shot you mean making the playoffs, then I think you have to include San Fran. They are currently 5-1 and could easily be 6-0.

Cleveland
@Washington
NYG
Az
@Baltimore
Rams
@Az
Pitt
@Seattle
@Rams

Of these games, I would say Cleveland, Az twice, Rams twice and Seattle are probably gimmies. That gives them 4 or 5 more wins.

I would say that the Skins probably won't give them much. They don't a QB and SF is very good against the run. They can win this game also.

The Giants will go as far as a Manning and a depleted WR corp will take them.

Baltimore and Pitt I see them losing straight up. I think SF is easily an 11 win team barring catastrophic injury.

I don't see two teams out of the East going to the playoffs. I see Dallas, GB, NO, SF. I see the team that has the better record between TB and Atlanta going as a WC and I think that will end up being Atlanta. I am not a believer in Detroit. I think that at some point, devine intervention will cease to intercede on their behalf at some point and they will lose some games they should have lost to this point. I think the team that ends up with the best record between the Bears and the Giants will get the other WC team. The Giants still have
@NE, @SF, @NO, GB, @Jets Philly, Skins and us twice. I can easily see them losing all 9 of those games but I don't see them winning more then 3. That's a real tough schedule. I think the Bears are the team that gets in.

Of course, anybody could sustain an injury that ends their season so there is that.

It made absolutely no sense. That defense is suspect at best, and bad at worst, yet they made no moves to add any DBs, LBs, or DL, which they have holes at in each unit.

The Lions are a fraud.

I feel like I'm living in alternate universe when I listen to the Cowherd's show anymore. He used to hate us and Tony Romo.

I almost started a thread on this one day, but IMO we are the only team that has any chance of beating the Packers this year in the NFC.

Our defense can match up with them and RR will devise a scheme to stay close. I haven't seen any defense outside of Baltimore, and possibly the Giants (only when there Dline is all healthy) that can match up with them.

If we don't get make it to the playoffs, GB will win the title again. Not saying they won't win if we do get to play them, but IMO we are the NFL's only hope to beat them.

Romo gave him an interview during the Super Bowl previews last year, and he's been very pro Romo and Dallas ever since.

Nice post. You are correct about finding a kicker in Dan Bailey, a 3rd WR, and possibly a "stud" RB who can carry the load. Things are indeed coming together regardless of the last team we just played.

Last time I looked the Rams were on our schedule for all of those who will be yammering "It was the Rams!".

Dang. Forgot to mention the 49ers. They are playing very well. Not sure about the Lions being fraudulent just yet, but allow me to add the 49ers to that list of six. They do deserve recognition.
