It basically boils down to what advertisers will avoid. If an advertiser will pull their ads for use of certain language then don't use it.

Some stupid Bud Light commercial, as if I needed another reason to not drink that swill.

I hate it. They show those Bud Light commercials every commercial break. It's stuck in my brain at this point.
 
I don't know why my phone auto corrects what I want to say to this: "ads". no that is certainly not what I intended to say.
