Commanders | Favre showing interest in team?
Sat, 12 Jul 2008 06:27:16 -0700

John Murphy, of Next Level Scouting, reports retired QB Brett Favre could target the Washington Commanders as a team he would like to play for should he become a free agent, according to a well-placed league source. Favre would unlikely want to play for a team within the NFC North, while local options such as the Tennessee Titans, Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints also seem out of the question. The Commanders present a team that implements an offense similar to one that Favre has played in throughout his career. In addition, the team possesses key offensive weapons that make them a championship contender. Finally, team owner Daniel Snyder has long been known as not only a bit of a "wild card" in terms of ownership style, but also likes to stir the pot among league owners.

I really hope that doesn't happen, because I'd hate to have to hate Brett Favre... but I certainly would drop him from my all-time favorites list.

that would be cool cause than when i go to Dallas to see them play the skins, i know da boys will win cause Farve can't win in Texas Stadium.

that would make absolutely zero sense for washington. Plus how in the world would they handle his salary.

Please god, make it happen. If Farve is coming back, then I need to see him splayed out on the Texas Stadium turf one more time.

If hating favre is wrong, i don't want to be right.

LOL, sounds like a one-liner in a soon-to-be-filmed movie called "10 Things I Hate About Favre"

There is NOTHING in that blurb that says Little Danny or the Skins are even remotely interested in favre.

It is pure speculation by the writer that Favre might be interested in Washington.

like someone said it seems mostly like speculation and with their salary cap it would be impossible (ah maybe not every year we say the same thing and they always sign a million free agents) but u know i actually hope its true. not only will they not win the SB but they interrupt the development of a good young QB in Campbell and we will have 2 games a year for Ware n company to harass and pop him all game long haha!

Snyder has always made short-term solutions when he wheels and deals.

What team shall we hate the most?

Jim Zorn may have heard a lot of good stuff about Favre from Mike Holmgren when he (Zorn) was coaching in Seattle.

The Commanders. They tried to block us from getting into the league.
I don't like the Commanders but I don't like Philly either ever since they cheered when Michael Irvin got hurt.

I don't like the Egals either, but they are probably 3rd on my list. The fans are terrible, booing Santa Claus, throwing snowball with batteries in them, cheering when Irvin got hurt, but that a Egals fan.

Commanders. We definately gotta hate the Commanders the most. Just too much history there for us to not have them A1 on our **** list.

The have posed the least threat for years now... really, ever since Lil' Danny bought the team... but they just have a certain something that makes it easier to hate them, than even the Eagles and Giants.

Loudmouth Antonio Pierce is helping to build the hate for NY at a frightening pace, though. Who knows... if they keep talking trash, maybe NY will become our main rival, replacing the quite benign Commanders.
