Basically a walk through only apparently. Most vets not even out there.

No Sean Lee again today.

A little good news here, maybe this means he'll be back tomorrow:

Yeah the Vets are in the 3pm practice.

9:14 Tim MacMahon (ESPNDallas): Looks like we'll have a light practice this morning. No pads. No sign of any established vets yet, either.

9:14 Tim MacMahon (ESPNDallas): Supplemental seventh-round NT Josh Brent looks like he will participate. He just walked out onto the field, helmet in hand.

9:27 BryanBroaddus: Looked at Dez Bryant talking to Receivers coach Ray Sherman. Bryant has a walking boat on his right ankle. [via Twitter]

9:47 BryanBroaddus: These "catch up" practices for the selected vets and rookies might be good for them but it's hard to judge anything when its half speed. [via Twitter]

9:58 BryanBroaddus: Interesting, there is a coach standing with Dez Bryant with a play call sheet in hand and going through each play as its run. [via Twitter]

10:08 BryanBroaddus: Watching Bryant's reactions, the coach tells him the play, then you see him move his arms like he is running the route. [via Twitter]

10:08 calvinwatkins: Even this early in the morning, Dave Campo is yelling at the DBs, "go get it, go get it." [via Twitter]

10:11 calvinwatkins: When Jason Williams is blitzing he gets to the quarterback. Not. Sure if moving him to OLB will work right now. He is on the dime coverage. [via Twitter]

I have read good things about Sam Young and Robert Brewster. How have they looked to you?

10:13 Tim MacMahon (ESPNDallas): Broaddus' take: If I had to take one or the other, I'd take Sam Young. He's more ready to play right now. His footwork is better. His strength appears better. I consider them both rookies, but Young looks more prepared. Brewster has played both the right and left side, but is more suited for the right side. His footwork is not there yet. He struggles with quickness.

10:16 BryanBroaddus: Looking forward to the afternoon practice. Really want to study nose man Josh Brent. Have heard some interesting talk about him. [via Twitter]

10:25 calvinwatkins: August 4 is the target date for Owusu-Ansah training camp debut. [via Twitter]

\10:30 Tim MacMahon (ESPNDallas): Practice over. Check out the blog throughout the day. Be back chatting for the p.m. practice.

Like.

It will be hard for him to jump right back into action but at least he should be mentally prepared and then he can work himself into shape pretty quickly.

Also like.

Pat McQuistan probably isn't going to make the team if Sam Young keeps showing this upside.

I think McQ is done on salary alone. After a few years in the league, I would guess he's making decent money for someone who has almost no snaps. And it sounds like he's regressed, anyway.

Can't wait to see Brent play. Hope his hand doesn't hamper him too much. On the bright side, I'm sure he's been able to at least run and condition this past week.

I'm glad Sam Young's doing well. Big dude, 6'8, and very strong with a 29 rep 225 bench press. It seems to be that he has the tools and athleticism needed to play in the NFL at offensive line.

And what are practices like? What should I look for? I'm going to the one today at 3:15 and I've never seen one before.

Yeah I hope we stole one with Brent.

We desperately need a player who is a little more active than Siavii behind Ratliff.

McQuistan is destined to join fellow scrubs Proctor and Berger in Fishland

We might have got a steal with Sam Young too.

He was the #1 ranked offensive lineman when he left highschool and I think he kinda coasted through college.

If we can motivate this guy than we may have our future RT.

I never thought he was as bad as some here painted him out to be. Doesnt mean he'll develop into a sure starter, but the idea that he was a worse player than McQuistan (which some in CZ have crowed since he was picked) wasnt right either. Even if he just turns into a quality backup, it was a good solid where we got him.

Free admission, but $10 to park. There will be thousands of people there. You have to get there early and wait in brutal heat for the doors to open to fight for the best seats in prime autograph locations, or you can wait and get seats better for watching the action.

There are concessions and souvenir booths just like a real game.

They start with warmups, drills, and special teams practice and then move on to 11 on 11.

It is a fun experience. Especially if you pick out a few things to watch for (i.e. how does Free look, etc). Have a great time!

Dez's injury must be worse than we thought. He was going to wear a walking boot but apparantly they decided to go with the walking boat! :bang2:

Well, no wonder he's not practicing. That has to be clunky as hell.

McQ gets like 1.1 mill a year. about half a mill more than a rookie. honestly, I don't think that is enough of a difference to play into the decision. I think though we are looking at Brewster as the guy who is replacing him as an inside/outside player. Young is a developmental guy who is not seeing the field this year
