Kicking is so much confidence. Keep rolling. Make a few kicks, success in the preseason, and suddenly you have a consistent kicker. If they both look bad in the first preseason game, then you have to start having tryouts. Find a noodle leg who can make extra points and FGs inside 40; keep a strong leg for kickoffs and desperation longer FGs and hope that guy is more mature and seasoned by next year.

yep..dude is overwhelmed because he was nowhere near this bad in college.

This is where I think it's good to have a kicking coach. A lot of the time, it's just a little hitch that is causing the problem and a good kicking coach can spot it and fix it. Fassel is a special teams coach, not a kicking coach. We need someone handling them like Steve Hoffman used to.
