I would assume that most posters in this forum live outside of the Phila fan region. Lucky for you!!! For those living in the Phila/South Jersey region you may understand my thoughts.... The outright hate (yes I will use that word) for Dallas fans in my area is immense, unlike anything in regards to any major sport you will probably see. Eagle fans are consumed with a bizarre Dallas obsession, the basis of which I supposed is jealousy, but its ingrained into their DNA. Hate Hate Hate!! Being a Dallas fan I suppose it is also in my DNA living where I do!! I despised the Eagles. While the Eagles have enjoyed success, a lot more than Dallas these past 10-15 years, the lack of a Super Bowl win has ultimately ended most conversations, however salty they become. I give credit where credit is due, Phila earned a great achievement, took advantage of the good fortune that presented itself this season.. BUT
How does a Dallas fan proceed....
The obnoxiousness of their fanbase is just maddening!!. I admit my mood is very sour over the Eagles (and only them) winning!! it's childish but hardened by years of exposure to a putrid fanbase. I deal with friends and family, all Eagle supporters, with countless texts, emails and calls taunting (mostly good natured) but it hits home, I cant be happy, cant crack a "I am glad for you"...just cant do it!!
My kids, 7 and 8 year old rabid fans like myself, are taunted as "losers" when going to school, being singled out at school to remain in the classroom with other non fans last week while Eagle kids get to sing fight song in the hallways...Parents and getting kids getting constant jabs that kids have been raised wrong etc?? joking yes, but kids don't get that...its out of hand!! And it will only get worse each day for the next few weeks...My house has been tense with my wife "saying just be the better person" LOL!!! Don't be like THEM....Tell the kids to just say "congrats you guys had a great season". Problem is I am not the type of person to can do that, and there you go... silly I should at my age understand and do just that, BUT alas I cant my rage is as hardened...LOL, wasted energy on all of this being a football fan!! More things in life, just gotta deal with it..
