Living in Texas

Summers are hot everywhere though.

That's okay. Last time I was in Arizona it was like 115. I'm okay with that as long as there is no humidity. Plus, I noticed there were a lot of those misters everywhere which were kind of cool(not very effective though). But that was also Arizona, not Texas.

I lived in Texas for 38 years, then moved out to San Fran two years ago. I can tell you that wherever you choose to live in Texas, it will be a lot cheaper than here. As for the property tax, renters do not pay that but it will be included in your rent.

If you plan on living there, please take a 2-week vacation in August to make sure you can handle the heat, it is really hot, especially in the Houston area mixed with that humidity. I lived south of Houston in clear lake city right by the lake. Great place, but hot, hot, hot.

If I had to go back to Texas, I might try the San Antonio/Austin area, I am not sure I can leave these mountains in Cali to go back to flat, flat land that is in Houston, and Austin would be the next closest thing.

As of right now in northern Cali, I am wearing a light jacket getting ready to watch the sunset over the beach

Again, I do not miss that Texas weather one bit.

I'm definitely planning to visit before I make a definite decision. I like to do a lot of research before I make my decisions.

Can't blame you for wanting to stay put. The parts I've seen in California are beautiful.
