What? Is this a trick question?
lol

In truth, Lee is fairly slow.

I guess if they include how quick someone gets to the ball, then the story changes immediatley.

NFL Network and the media are running around using the term "Bruce Lee" Defense.

Which was started here.

They had Bruce on NFL Network, and they brought it up to him.

We need to start getting credit, as this isn't the first time.

any person with half a brain would of come up with "Bruce Lee." please go.

The Bruce Lee D or Rush Hour. Still need to come up with a good nickname for Carr.....

Lee is faster than James about like Brooking in his prime. It's not only his instincts its also his economy of motion. He takes the right steps to get where he's going. And his instincts don't allow him to go in the wrong direction often. He's got great cones to put those other two together. Carter is probably the fastest LB in the NFL.

I'm pretty sure every Cowboys fan not developmentally challenged was able to figure out the Bruce Lee moniker when we drafted Carter.

I'm skeptical that the term "Bruce Lee" is to be credited to CowboysZone in this instance. How do you know it wasn't invented by Cowboys players themselves who would probably be just as adept at coming up with nicknames for each other as sports fans on CZ are?

no, but he reacts well and has great football instincts. that makes up for lack of overall foot-speed. i coach LB's.........and that is something that is somewhat over looked at times...yes he is fast, but not one of the fastest ......

Football instincts and awareness....is the same reason why L. Fletcher and Ray Lewis both look so much faster in film then they do in person. Ray Lewis studies the game so much he knows where to be on the field at all times. i see the same qualities in Sean Lee. The man puts in major film work. He lines up already knowing a handful of plays that van be run out of any formation the Off is in.

Bruce...dont call me Davis carter is FAST...period. Good player as well, but fast as any LB in the game!

It's not just the instincts. 40 times are COMPLETELY USELESS as far as ILB's go. I want to know how fast he can get down the middle of the field, running backwards while keeping his eyes on the QB.

THAT is football speed.

I want to know how fast he can shuffle laterally sideline to sideline while maintaining an angle on the RB on outside Running plays.

THAT is football speed.

:hammer:

Who here thinks Ray Lewis is running a minimum of a 4.9? Yet he had nearly 14 tackles. He is slow but he has good read and recognition skills that allows him to play faster than he can run a straight line 40.

Not exactly far-fetched for them to come up with "Bruce Lee" on their own. It doesn't take a genius to get there.

Exactly. We're fans who devote only a small amount of our time to the Cowboys. The Cowboys players, or the media people, focus on the Cowboys as their full-time job. They have even more time to come up with nicknames than us.

Looked it up

Willis 4.51 Bowman 4.7

Cart 4.47 Lee 4.71

Since LB's run shorter distances to the ball carrier.....MAYBE it would be better to see their 20 yd shuttle times?;)

Carter is just going to get better and better as the season goes on.

He was a big hitter in college and it's just a matter of time before he crushes somebody.

Yep... the upside on this kid is phenomenal... hopefully it translates fully into the NFL...
