Not completely thrilled with the Draft to be perfectly honest.

Lest we forget:

The game is won in the trenches.

This D-Line has potentially the best depth in the NFL. Quinn, Hyder, and Covington are all excellent signings. Then adding a raw pocket buster like Hill may prove to be sheer genius. Jackson and Jelks are both good players:

Put simply:

You will need to be an OUTSTANDING football player to get snaps in the DL rotation.

This is the best group of DL we've seen in years. The Front 7 in fact- is phenomenal.

You're looking at what I believe might be one star- Quality safety away from being the absolute best Defense in the NFL- bar none.

Nice post. Can you give me the low down on Hyder? Kid from the Lions right? Not familiar with his game, despite the fact I live in Michigan. Don't watch the Lions too much. Affects my blood pressure. Switched to the Cowboys 35 years ago. TIA

Wh... What? Having outstanding depth on the dline makes your dline outstanding? I don't think that's how it works. Remember that year we drafted like 4 corners? We had outstanding depth. How'd that work out?

If Hill pans out I will eat my crow, but this draft looks like a bust to me.

The did not need to draft the last two DE's. Just still shows this staff wastes a lot of draft picks.

The rest of the defense will be deep and talented also. Sean Lee has been to two Pro Bowls but won't start. Jourdan Lewis would start on some teams and he is our 4th CB.

Jourdan Lewis is fantastic depth, but we're wasting his talent on the bench because he doesn't measure up to Kris Richard's CB prototype.

The team is willing to trade him, but haven't gotten much interest from what I've heard. If we are fortunate to have a relatively healthy training camp/pre-season, maybe a good offer will be made if another team has an injury.

On another note, we all have out favorite players on the roster and others we're anxious to see replaced. There aren't many names on my hit list anymore.

I don't like Jeff Heath as a starter, I'd rather he focus on special teams and be a depth player. I don't like Justin March-Lillard and hope he's churned for a better special teams player this year. Jamize Olawale is not a fullback, he's just a big running back, but he re-signed for 3 years. And I don't want to see Lance Lenoir return another pre-season punt. It's time for him to go.

That's it.

Sorely deficient at 1T DT and safety
Not 'loaded' unfortunately

We are not a perfect D, but we are no less than adequate at 1T AND S.

We are indeed loaded on D. This is the deepest Front 4 in the NFL backed by 3 Prowbowl caliber LB's, 2 of which are rapidly ascending players.

This is going to be one fierce unit. Believe it.
