I read this from a post over on NYGiants.com by BigBlue58

Enough is enough with this greed! I am absolutely lost when the football season is over, but we have to stop being sheep people.
We have to stop running back to the trough when the players and owners decide to agree on a CBA and grace us with their presence on the football field.
Could there be any better message sent to all these greedy jerks than empty stadiums and nobody buying their overpriced crap? How long are we going to keep going back like abused spouses willing to give another chance to the bum who keeps abusing us???
We fans have so much power, and it's time we exercise it..
People in this country are losing their jobs, their homes and can't afford to eat, and these cretins are fighting over a billion dollar pie, and still crying that it's not enough! It's time for we fans to say enough.
There...I said my piece... the soapbox is going back into the cellar.

I happen to agree with this. As much as I do in fact love football, I can safely say the longer I go without the easier it will get. Suddenly Sundays won't be days where I'm screaming at the television.

I think I'd be willing to quit watching it altogether if I get fed up enough. Thoughts?

I agree with it as well.

I'm an avid baseball and basketball fan so I could get by on those.

The idea of average joes standing up to billionaires seems to come up whenever supply/demand is an issue. Quite frankly, the NFL has the supply, and lowering demand far enough to make a difference to them is a pipe dream.

Maybe it is, but I don't have to support or watch something if I no longer feel the product deserves my time.

Hard to justify spending $400 dollars for average seats at a Cowboy game during the regular season when I spent $175 for great seats to the World Series. I know what the OP is saying and I agree 100%. Prices are ridiculous, the greed is ridiculous on BOTH sides, but IMO, especially the owners. At the same time I sympathize with those that will be really upset with no football (if that so happens) this coming fall, I was there not so long ago, but over the past two years the league's greed and the ridiculous drama surrounding many players and the media have really made me take a step back from the level of devotion to the league I once had. Will always remain a Cowboy fan, but I won't be spending any money on them anytime soon, at least not till prices come down.

I was thinking the same thing.

With all of the things going on in the world, all of the real problems some are facing and dealing with, .. these millionaires and billionaires arguing over all of that money turns my stomach.

I could do without the NFL this fall.

I would still have college and high school football.

I could sure do without all of the pain the NFL has brought me over the past 15 years or so too. <cowboys>

I suddenly do not care.

It makes no difference to me who wins or loses, I don't attend games anyway but watch them on TV. Whenever they get it settled I will watch games on TV and not pay ridiculous sums for tickets to games.

It's not my money they are arguing over but the money from those who attend games.

In the meantime I will get a lot more work done out here on the ranch.

If we don't have NFL football this fall, I will watch college ball.

It's not a big deal to me anymore.

If any of the 2011 season suffers as a result of a lockout, I am done with the NFL. I am prepared to keep my word.

A fool and his money are soon parted.

Your sig justifies your stance.

im all for it, lock it and be done with it, than listening to the new crying as the tears really come out. Take the hard stance and be done with it.

I say if you feel the NFL is making you feel like an abused spouse, then please quit. Don’t subject yourself to that type of punishment.

I love the NFL. I have zero desire to watch baseball or basketball or any of the other meaningless sports (meaningless to me). It’s the offseason right now. No games have been lost. I can’t relate to all the outrage. I guess something for fans to get emotional about. It is a business, they are doing business right now. The NFL is the best for a reason. They will work it out in time.

If the NFL- owners and players- cared a fraction as much about individual fans as the fans do the NFL, then a regular season ticket would not cost anywhere near $400 dollars. If any party needs to a better deal it's the fans....greedy suckers, all of them.

Which team has tickets at $400 face value?

There once was a time when the 'average' fan could relate emotionally to the struggles of the players on the field.

Today, that just isn't the arena. As the stars are now more prima donna's and jerks, than someone you enjoy rooting for beyond your team just winning.

There is more performance than team spirit on the field. But the 'joe' in the stands is provided lip service and encouragements to spend even more.

It has been almost a decade and a half since we, Cowboy fans, were given the opportunity to see a team take sacrifice onto the field and show some guts...instead of trying to sacrifice Jerry Jones, and the rest of the owners for their own corporate level benefits.

Well I personally can't believe the cahjones on these suckers, already getting 100 million dollar contracts for a d..n defensive lineman, and he isn't earning a 100 dollars with his play, and this is what walks away from negotiations, this is what wants my support, it will be just like 1983 for me, the hell with them hire NFL europe players, have a season, and lock em out forever for all I care, I barely pay for my health insurance and a roof over my head, dam if I care about some bellyaching millionaires, and if they settled this today, I won't forgive or forget these players, last time they pulled this, a large per centage either had to retire or be traded because the fans would not return to the stadiums till they were, I would hope the same happens again, I hope these fools have cut their own throats with this stupidity...........................

Here's a PR move for both sides,,, how about you split that "extra billion dollars" 3-ways with the fans, lower your ticket prices and cut about half of those endless TV commercials out. You're ruining the game and the fans the ones getting reamed in this deal.
