Lockhart Texas vacation

Been to San Antonio but going check out San Marcos
Theres nothing around there except Austin.

San Marcos is a cookie cutter college town, San Antonio couldn't be more boring...and Lockhart isnt some place you want to vacation.

I guess if you're from Missouri (Im here now; biggest mistake ever), you may not notice.

Austin. I can't stress enough over Lockhart and San Marcos. If you go to Austin, you'll see how the entire state of Missouri is like 30 years behind some places.

I can't wait to get back to Texas.

Sorry, I have to offer a different view: I think San Antonio is a great place to visit. The River Walk is tourist favorite in downtown SA.

Restaurants, shops and bars line the old San Antonio River. It's a great place to visit in the evening and it is only a stone's throw from the Alamo, which is well worth a tour. The King William District in the downtown area makes for a great walking tour of Victorian era homes.

Outside of downtown is Fiesta Texas and Sea World.

Hey, I am biased; I grew up in the hill country.

Eh, you may be right. In many ways, Austin has lost its charm. All the Californians invaded and it's just another city.

I would definitely say Austin over San Marcos. But it would depend on what you were looking for... San Antonio might work. But I always found it kinda boring, aside from a few landmarks.

The River Walk is OK. I like it at night.

I loved San Antonio as well.
Was stationed at Fort Sam Houston and it was by far my favorite duty station of my military career.
