Clearly by name and avatar i'm a Virginia Tech fan. I have had season tickets for the last 7 seasons and have watched every game of Logan's career. As a sophomore when he actually had talent around him he was very productive and looked great. But the last two seasons have been extremely frustrating. I don't put all the blame on him because it has been the worst running game VT has seen in ages and the WR talent has left a lot to be desired. But he is also very inconsistent and his accuracy at times make you want to scream.
But there is no question he has an extremely strong arm that can make all of the throws if somebody can fix his mechanics. And the guy is a gamer with a lot of heart, he put everything he had out on the field every game. The important thing to remember when it comes to Logan is every other college who recruited him wanted him as a tight end and he didn't even want to play QB. The coaches approached him about playing QB after missing out on a few QB recruits. Considering how raw he is at the position you have to expect some of the issues. Especially when the QB coach at VT has been horrendous. Before last season Beamer cleaned out a few of his coaches and brought in Scott Loefler who was able to work with him. But with installing a new offense he wasn't able to completely focus on fixing all of his mechanical flaws.
With all that said, would I take him in the 4th? No, but as the draft goes on I would take the risk that goes with him. Because if he does develop and take that step forward he could be one heck of a steal with all of his god given athletic talent. Could also fall flat on his face, but what do you expect with a 5th, 6th, or 7th rounder?
