after an "extensive review" , the NFL cannot conclude that the Commanders committed tampering. They were however assured that Washington would re-emphasize following the rules ragarding tampering in the future.

And the joke that is Roger Goodell continues. Hey Roge, how about the reckless driving Haynesworth committed one year ago? May want to 'review' that as well, particularly since he's been suspended by the league for misconduct before...like almost killing Gurode on the field of play.

I have to agree. To say they didn't tamper is ridiculous. Their were reports coming out of Washington and Tennessee that the deal was already done prior to the start of free agency.

Not to mention, Haynesworth signed that deal at what? 12:02 am? You think the skins made a $100 million deal in the two minutes that free agency opened? Hell it takes 2 minutes just to fax something, sign it, and fax it back. But we are led to believe that they didn't contact him prior to midnight?

Ridiculous.

After an 'extensive coverup', the NFL could not conclude that the Commanders committed tampering. In a case where investigations rivaled the famed Patriots Cheatergate controversy, the NFL concluded that sweeping things under the rug was better for the league than any nasty publicity. Danny Snyder was given a stern talking to, after which he was so angry that he reportedly fired a random underling.

Wow, just swept that crap under the rug. The Skins apparently worked out a $100 mill contract, faxed it to Fat Albert, and he signed it and faxed it back. This whole process took less than 2 mins.

HAAAAABAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAABAAAAA!!!!!!!!!

What a joke league the NFL has turned into.

I, for one, applaud this ruling and believe Goodell to be a fair, civic-minded man of upstanding character. I wish him nothing but the best.

One must remember that Goodel works for the OWNERS. So you know what is going to happen in cases like this. Danny boy was VERY prominent in that case.

Snyder's idea of negotiating is to say how much do you want then say ok. :laugh2:

LOL

The scouting combine may as well be called "negotiating for March 1st free agents weekend"

Tampa had an offer to Fat Albert also. The deal wasn't signed until about 5 am

Lets be honest, if the Commanders were tagged for tampering, it would kill the whole way FA is done now.

You may as well just bar agents from attending the scouting combine

I don't think anyone is suggesting that the skins are the only one that do these things, but they sure as hell make it more obvious than any other team.

This was a good opportunity for the commish to send a message to the rest of the league though because this was as blatent as it comes.

He chose not to do so though. Dissapointing.

Moreso the message he sent is, we aren't going to enforce tampering, so either re-write the rule, or expect open season at the combine.

It just proves that the Patriots are far from the only cheaters in the league. There are also plenty of reports that other teams (Jets?) tampered with Michael Crabtree. I guess some teams are more equal than others.

Cheaters would wish him the best. We certainly don't expect anything less from the likes of you or any other Deadskin fan.
