This is what CAN happen (i.e. Jerry and Stephen not going anywhere)...

1) Get a new OC for next year.

2) If Dak and the Cowboys still can't get it done on offense in 2019 (which I don't think they will), then take the next step and finally fire Jerry and don't sign Dak after 2019.

3) Get a new HC and coaching staff in 2020, let him draft his QB.

Bottom line in all of this: DO NOT EXTEND DAK! By the end of 2019, believe me, we will have seen enough to know about Dak.

But I can understand keeping that go around for another year, since he is already signed and relatively cheap. Why not extend Dak? BECAUSE HIS CEILING IS MIDDLE OF THE PACK. Isn't that a good enough reason not to sign? Don't we aspire better at the QB position?

Any questions class?

I think your point 2 was meant to read "... finally fire Jason ...".

Dak will get extended. So your point is moot. Try recalculating with an extended Dak... It can still work.

Key #1 is get a vet QB in here that makes good decisions and has a strong arm in the off-season.

Key #2.. Fire Garrett, Linehan, and Moore

Key #3.. Make Kris Richard our next HC. .

Key #4.. Get a real OC in here that is known for developing QBs.. Norv comes to mind.

That's a solid plan moving forward.

LOL. If it were "so simple". Our 'Boys would have 6 rings.

Another season of Dak Prescott AND Jason Garrett?

Where's the noose?

Well, a BAAD 2019 would absolutely justify letting both Jason and Dak go. I mean, there could be no "well they didn't give him enough chances". Plus it would secure a top 5 pick in 2020 that this team desperately needs. Also, Dak is already under contract for next year. May as well see what he can do with a new OC.

And if Jason loses this team, then heck, sending him packing before 2019. Either way, we got a ride Dak through his rookie contract, which is next year.

Tough, tough sledding ahead but it's needed for the future purge.

The plan is real simple, but you missed it.

Anything that doesnt include the immediate firing of Garrett is the WRONG plan.

What has Dak Prescott done to deserve an extension? Great first year? You mean, like RGIII?

Would you rather have a shot at Tua in 2020 or extend Dak now. Think about that one. Ask yourself what Day's ceiling is, and if you're okay with that.

Dude. Don't shoot the messenger pidgeon. Jerry has said Dak is getting extended. Formulate your plan from there.

So we're just gonna implicitly believe what Jerry's saying to the media?

And even if true, y'all are okay with that? Sure, good luck with that. Talk to me in 2023 and tell me how that worked out if Dak is extended .

I will be the first in line to admit I'm wrong if Dak proves to be a top tier NFL QB.

as painful as it seems...

Remove Garret, OC, DC at end of season. Get a passionate head coach like Arians and Rex Ryan as Dcoord. See if someone will give you a 1+ for Zeke. Someone like SF, Buffalo, Oakland (top 5 teams).

I don't think he said he was okay with it, just that the plan has to be based on reality, and if Jerry extends Dak, that is the reality the plan has to be based on.

We dont have to extend Dak now. Thats where you guys miss the boat completely. Its not until the end of next season before we have to decide. Which we have no chance of getting another QB in here regardless. So you work on fixing the line and fire the coaches and hope Dak develops with better coaching and another year. If he doesnt then at least you have the offense around a rookie all ready to roll.
