Now that the Boys have gotten themselves a 4th rounder, LOL...

First, I am rather flabbergasted to see Max Jean-Gilles, Gabe Watson, Jon Scott and Ko Simpson still on the board... if either Scott or Simpson should slide down to the Boys at pick 125, they'd be absolute no-brainers at that point, certainly they'd be the highest rated players still on the board... indeed, I could make a case for Jerry taking those extra picks he got in rounds six and seven and try to package them to move up further in the 4th, if either of them continue to slide some...

Other players who are intriguing to me with the Boys' 4th rounder:

Pat Watkins, FS, Florida State...

Rodrique Wright, DT/DE, Texas... after drafting Hatcher, the Boys likely wouldn't be looking for another defensive end at this point, and the word is the Boys think Wright would be better off at DE...

Ryan O'Callaghan, OT/OG, Cal...

Kyle Williams, DT, LSU...

Barry Cofield, DT, Northwestern...

LeKevin Smith, DT, Nebraska...

Demetrius Williams, WR, Oregon...

Martin Nance, WR, Miami-Ohio...

Todd Watkins, WR, BYU...

So, if you want an offensive lineman here, Jon Scott and Ryan O'Callaghan would be a good fit... if you want a DT, there's Rodrique Wright, Kyle Williams, Barry Cofield or LeKevin Smith to choose from... at WR, Demetrius Williams, Martin Nance or Todd Watkins... at free safety, Ko Simpson and Pat Watkins are the best of the bunch...

My guess would be the Boys are looking DB or DT with that pick... but they are clearly playing their draft board, so there's no assurances... :D

Skyler Green in the 6th or 7th OR Webb in the 6th.

Scott, O'Callaghan, Toledo and Whimper could all be possible picks at OG rated for the 3rd/4th round.

Demetrius Williams would be a solid pick to challenge for the #3 spot and maybe take over for Terry down the road.

Don't forget we are looking for a kickoff specialist most likely in round 7 or FA.

Still available, comes down to his work ethic I suppose.

Like my friend just said, he's got first round talent but a 4th round heart.

Maybe Bill can light a fire under his ***.

Another couple of guys in the 4th round, maybe the 5th, include Kuper and Boothe at OG, and Hawkins at LB.

Now, I'd be a bit surprised if we took another LB in the 4th . . . . but you never know . . . .

No Gabe Watson? Or did I just miss him?

Rack, I really expect Watson to be off the board very early on in the 4th round, but even if he wasn't, I don't know that I'd spend even a second day pick on another lazy DT...

All 3 are on my list, Woods, just later on in the draft... Kuper and Boothe will probably still be there in the 5th, Hawkins will almost certainly still be on the board in the 6th...

They are 3 players that the Cowboys have taken a look at, so you made a good call there...

SB,

What about Guy Whimper? Where is he on your rankings? He's got good versatility as well I think.

It doesn't fill a need necessarily, but if Minter or Phillips are there at CB, I think hard about it. Both could turn into solid nick backs. Minter has the toughness for special teams also.

If you go guard, Matua and Gilles are there, along with Sims.

Oshinowo seems like a good fit to rotate at NT if we go that direction. Fifita as well, most likely in the 6th or 7th though.

Terna Nande could be a special teams demon (6-0, 232, 4.51 40) and future project for LB'er.

Still have QB's that can move to other positions in Smith and McNeal.

Another NT type is M. Stanley. He was projected anywhere from the 3rd round to the 6th round . . . .

R. Wright is also still on the Board, though I don't know if we go that direction again.

The more you sift through the remaining players, the happier I am that we have 6 picks today. We should still be able to upgrade the bottom quarter of our roster.

For Gilles and Simpson to still be there must be some news on them not known to the general public. If it's character related I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't even on the Cowboys board.

Any chance we go with someone else with a personal connection to the coach, namely Kai Parham? Granted, his sideline to sideline to speed is a concern, but he's a big, tough MLB who is a decent blitzer.

Not sure it appears as a pressing need, but stranger things have happened.

I'm very surprised to see Simpson is still there, and I wouldn't mind at all if we picked up either Simpson or Pat Watkins with one of our early picks today.
