Looking ahead

We need a real solid #3 CB. They don't have to be spectacular but they should be able to man up more often than not.

We need a solid #2 WR - I would love to get Fitzie or RW

We need a good RB. What is the status of Turner in SD? Get his butt to Dallas JJ. Could we give them our low #1? Is that so bad?

Stanbeck needs to play more. I hope he has one heck of an offseason. I am looking forward to seeing this kid play.

Punt return ace. We need a Hester or someone other than Crayton. PLEASE!!

Turner is worth about a 4th round pick. You don't have to give up the whole draft to make player trades because you as a team has to pickup their contract. You're actually doing the other team a favor.

I don't think we're going to acquire 2 CBs in FA. At least 2 good CBs.

I think we've got to try and get one in FA and one in the Draft.

But I agree that we need a real number 2 WR through FA.

We should aim to re-sign Hamlin and Flo, depending on price.

I would prefer to keep our two Round 1 draft picks.

I would prefer to keep them too, but I got a feeling Jerry Jones is going to pull a big draft day trade. Remember he said he wanted a WOW player on offense . . . . I think he wants McFadden.

If he does this, I am convinced we are doomed to oblivion once again.

I just don't get that superstar feeling. I don't think Jerry is going to mortgage everything for McFadden when he's got a pro-bowl running back. And I don't think he's going to go nuts for someone like Chad Johnson when he already has TO.

Now, I do think they will sniff around a couple of more well-known receivers if Terry Glenn can't come back. Actually, I think they'll get a receiver no matter what...

I really do believe the biggest holes on the team are in your secondary and with your receivers. Those will be the priorities. Everything else will be depth or more playmaking (tweaking, if you will), with the exception of what happens with Flozell and possibly Hamlin.

Agree completely, Chocolate.

I don't really expect Dallas to go after huge names this summer. For one thing, I think Jerry feels pretty good about the star-power on the team, and I think they'll try to make sound financial decisions.
I really do hope you're wrong. Ware is the only guy on our defense that scares anyone - we need to change that.

What will scare teams is speed. Speed at the WR position, not old speed either (Terry Glenn)

The pats throw speed at you all over the place at the WR position. When someone catches the ball from NE, they're all a threat to score. We don't have that... Go get some stars Jerry. 2 more should do it.

No use in looking back. It's over and done with. So what now?

The first point of interest is going to be the coaching staff. Who stays, who goes, and who replaces the ones who leave?

After that, I'll be most interested in seeing who the team goes after in free agency. It really can't be emphasized enough that this wasn't Wade's team. I'm interested to see what happens when this team gets more of his kind of players. That probably means a little more speed, especially on defense.

Along those lines, I'll be interested to see which players leave. I'm afraid that Terry Glenn is done. Some of the guys are free agents, so they will be gone too.

And like everyone else, I want to see the team add to the key parts that are already here. Unlike some who are extremely pessimistic and negative right now, I'm excited about the future. Yeah, I hate the loss from yesterday, but I really do think this team is going to challenge for years to come.

I think the team desperately needs another corner. I don't have any confidence in any corner not named Newman.

I really want more speed and big-play ability at receiver. Crayton is solid, his terrible day yesterday not withstanding. TO is aging, but he's a force. He could use a little help though.

While we're getting some help, I really want Barber to get some more legit help. Julius Jones was more of a detriment this season than an addition. He's not a bad player, but for whatever reason, it was a bad fit.

I want better FB play too. Hoyte may have been playing hurt, but he didn't do much for me. I thought the offense got worse after Deon Anderson was injured.

It should be a fun and interesting off-season. And though it's starting too early, it's starting today.

:lmao2: :lmao: So NOW this isn't Phillips team. Funny just a few weeks ago he deserved all the credit. This is too funny.

I think Wade does deserve a ton of credit. Surely everyone understands that these aren't the guys he drafted or asked for while in the war room! His scheme usually emphasizes more speed than this team had. I suspect you see more of that next season.

I'm not trying to blame Bill either. Bill built the kind of team he wanted.

What I don't understand - and what I have never understood - is why it can't be both. Fans and media acted like it had to be Bill or Wade. Clearly, it was both!

I agree with much of what's been said here.

Am I wrong though, in thinking that Columbo is a UFA? I thought we signed him to a one-year deal last year. If we franchise or resign Flo, I think we have to let Columbo walk. We have Free, Marten and McQ in the wings - one must be given a chance. If none of them can step into a starting role yet, we better be taking OTs in the draft.

Otherwise, I'd like a stud CB and stud ILB in the draft. I like what I've read about Beau Bell from UNLV. He's big, fast and a leader on and off the field (real character guy). From what I've read he should be available at #29. Best cover corner at #22 would be nice.

Ummm it was clearly not Wades team a few hours ago, now it's both.
Why is it I get the feeling if they won it all it would clearly be Wades team?

This is classic.
