First 9 games of the year with Ellis
194.9 yards per game
169-285 comp-att 59.3% comp %
7 TD
10 INT
19 Sacks

Last 8 games without Ellis
249 yards per game
160-263 comp-att % 60.8 comp %
20 TDs
10 INTs
15 sacks

The only numbers that dropped were the comp-att numbers and the sack numbers(sacks are deceptive pass rush numbers, I wish the box scores had stats for knock downs or pass rushes). INTs stayed the same the rest of the numbers increased dramatically for the other teams.

If you think good pass rush doesn't make a difference then you are a fool.

But But But... Our pass defense was 24th... That has to be the secondary's fault... :laugh2:

This is exactly why I wanted Spencer. The season went down the drain after Ellis went down. Theres a reason Jerry was desperate enough to trade back up to get Spencer. It was a glaring need and he knew it.

Phillips is all about pressure on the QB. We have struggled with that for years. Drafting a guy with edge speed was pretty predictable.

Clearly pass rush wasn't as important as finding a #4 WR.

Oh yeah especially when we don't have another receiving weapon at TE.

Gotta bump this up because some still don't believe a pass rush helps much.

don't worry about it. we'll draft the next mario williams next year with the 1st pick overall.

Greg was both a leader and big time player for us. The Boys losing streak started after he was injured. He was a big loss and the injury and his age to make a comeback make his situation dicey. Whatever happens he is/was a big time Cowboy to me.
