It really makes me glad to know that some guys really love this sport, and even most interesting is how much they love this team, J.J. crying while J.J. drafted him is one of the greatest moments in Cowboys' draft history that I can remember. I love this passion, the attitude and I think Wilcox is on the verge of becoming the player who we think he will become. I can't wait to see him out there on the field.

I don't know why, but I have a good feeling about him, too.

Maybe after having so many years of bad safety play has me optimistic about anything.

That probably has a lot to do with it, but there's also no doubt from what we've seen that the physical skills are there. He can run and he can hit, too. We're use to seeing only one of those attributes, and it's usually the hitting part.

If we can get him to understand the game and how to play it like Church does, his ceiling is much higher. Church will always have to make up for his lack of speed with position-sound football and sure tackling. If Wilcox adds those things to his game, he can be the best safety we've had since Darren Woodson ... but that if keeps a lot of players from reaching such a status.

I like him, too. I hope he has what it takes to start in the league.

I still have hope for Wilcox but i dont want to waste our 3rd rd picks on projects again,we just cannot afford to red shirt such a high pick.

Red shirting a 3rd is better than giving the pick away.

Good to hear from this ghost of a player. I like him!

Seemed like Heath played as well as Wilcox. Where's the love for Heath?

Well, seeing as how he cried, it's fairly obvious Wilcox wanted the job pretty badly. Now, let's see if he's able to handle it -- it's one thing to want it badly and yet another thing entirely to have what it takes to be successful at it. We'd better hope Wilcox's ability matches his desire. JJ's coverage skills will be tested severely in the weeks and months to come. It's been way too long since Darren Woodson roamed the back end at safety so capably. I'm praying Wilcox can be the next in line to reach that plateau.

Sounds like the depth chart at FS has been Wilcox, Johnson, Hamilton with Johnson sitting out with the tight hammy. So Heath is either running 4th team FS or he's a SS candidate. I'm guessing SS.

Wilcox just needs time. Last year was his 2nd year playing safety. He played a different position all through college. This stability should help him
