My Dad is a lifelong Cowboys fan turning 69, I decided to take him to the Cowboys game for his birthday! We are flying into Dallas from SF on Saturday and returning on Monday. Staying in a Marriott in Arlington.

I would love for anyone's advice that knows the area well on where would be a good place for me to take him Saturday night for some good food and drinks, anywhere to go on Sunday before the game to check out the city (should we just goto the stadium to watch the early games too?), and anything else that I might be overlooking.

We'll be seated at Club Mezzanine 313, Row 1 if anyone will be nearby. I am beyond excited!!

not sure what is around the Marriot in Arlington anymore. But there are some good places near the stadium. Can find pretty much what you want.
Depends on how far you want to travel away from the hotel also.

But North of the stadium on Collins plenty of restaurants.

I really can't help you, but I hope you and your dad have a great time. I'm sure he's gonna have fun just hanging with his son, wherever you go.

Congrats man. You will love it. Its such a great feeling walking through those doors and seeing the field with the cowboys painted in each end zone. Nothing like it.

My biggest tip I tell everyone when attending a game for the first time is to make sure you go in the gate that it says to go in on the ticket, otherwise you have to walk all the way around.

The main gate to the plazas opens 3 hours before kickoff and the doors to the stadium open two hours before.

enjoy the game man.

I would Uber it over to Lincoln Square. About a 2 minute drive from the Marriott. If you like Italian you can try Biaporettis. You can hit up Boomer Jacks as well (great place before game as well). It has good food, big menu and lots of TV's. Hooters is also near by. Lots of places, but Arlington isn't the nicest area just fyi. Fort Worth is way better but around 20 minutes away minimum.

dude take it easy on arlington. There is a rent a tire right down the road from the stadium.

I wouldn't mind the drive of going to Forth Worth, just want to provide my dad with the best experience possible for the short time we're there

Lived in Arlington for 5-6 years. Don't remember Ft. Worth being that markedly better. Both have good spots and bad unless things have gone south dramatically since I was last there.

A few suggestions: If you have a free day or evening, go to Sundance Square in downtown FW. The Stockyards are pretty close to that area as well and are also interesting. As for dining, particularly in N. Arlington, some really good Tex Mex can be found at Pappasitos. Not too far from the stadium. Finally, I would arrive at the stadium 2-3 hours early (at least). There is a lot to do and see, particularly if you have not been there before.

6 Flags over Texas is close to the stadium, but I personally would not recommend it for adults with only a couple of days in town. A little run down and full of people for Holiday in the Park.

You should try and hit downtown Grapevine which is not far from Arlington. It's a cool area to hang out with your dad. Have a great time!

Take a tour of the stadium when you get there on Saturday, it's pretty awesome. Just leave your credit card at home or you'll spend all your rent money on Cowboys gear in the Pro Shop, lol

Don't go to Fort Worth. Go to Dallas. Check out the Perot museum and eat in uptown. The stocky yards in Fort Worth is boring and super touristy. Don't do it.
