I'm pretty sick of hearing about how excited we are about the return abilities of some of our offseason acquisitions over the last several years.

Zuriel Smith, Skylar Green & Woody Dantzler come to mind.

Then there's Terrence Newman. Remember what a prolific return man the guy was supposed to be coming out of school? Well, X years later, we're largely still waiting. He's gotten little more than spot duty back there.

Now I understand the risks associated with a guy like Newman and I don't take them lightly. But why get all foamy about a key players return abilities if you're going to be afraid to take that risk?

Now we hear that Felix Jones and even Mike Jenkins have return abilities. Please excuse me if I remain a bit guarded. I've been down this road before.

Dare I get my hopes up that Pacman might be the solution there? He's got proven ability in the NFL. I've even heard some compare him to *gasp* Deion in that regard. And with Newman, Henry & Jenkins around, maybe we can even risk putting him back there more than ocasionally.

Just needed to vent that a little bit... :)

Pacman is the full time punt returner as long as he is on the team. No doubt. Kickoff returner is a lot more cloudy since they have a bunch of potential great returners. Felix Jones, Mike Jenkins, Pacman, Stanback, Austin.

If it's up to me (and it SHOULD be), Jenkins is the kick returner.

My money's on Felix. He averaged 31 yards per in '07.

He's that good of a kick returner? I have no idea, but I really like him at CB. I think Felix Jones is our KR. Wasn't he an All American his freshman year as a kick returner? I'd have to think he'd be back there with Stanback on KO's, but if Jenkins is that good and Pacman seems to be a stud returner who knows what we do. I do think we have some legit big time threats at all our return positions now.

Felix is prolly better, but I don't want to risk injury. Ain't worth it when you have Jenkins who is excellent at returning kicks.
