Sorry to the optimist Cowboys fans, but to those long time Dallas fans that use to see this franchise be in the playoffs year in and year out. See the NFC Championship game routinely and Superbowls, you see why "we" are NOT optimist.

When short-term Dallas fans are content when this franchise produces Jason Garrett level of success with .500 and 1 out of 5 years of a playoff visit and losing in the 1st round; "we" are out of optimism anymore. We still support but not optimistic anymore until this franchise breaks the drought. Dallas is far closer to the Lions / Jaguars than a successful franchise.

those years are gone. fun ride, and incredible memories but have to recalibrate your expectations. no one's telling you to appreciate mediocrity, just be realistic. and after 25 years and counting of this nonsense hopefully we'll see something pan out.
