Assuming we dont all die in a few days(end of the world)
I hear all this talk about Jerry is driving the organization into the ground, shut up. He's not excluded from blame but he doesnt coach. You can argue that he hired him, yes but people just had a feeling about him. People around the NFL not people from a forum. So yes Jerry did the right thing but this has ran its course. I have to believe Jerry knows this, but what good would it do to fire him now? And bring in who?
So with all that being said I have two people at the top of my list i want to see coaching the Cowboys. Either Payton or Holmgren would do it for me. Either guy runs a system that is perfect for Romo.
As some people have said i think it would be wise to keep Ryan in Dallas for the time being. Let him build his rep and see him off and let one of the assistants take over when the time comes.
Now i for one dont think this OL is doomed beyond repair. Sure this team needs a guy or two, but i think they found something with Parnell. If free continues to struggle id like to see the team let Parnell play RT when Smith comes back. The guy is athletic and you can see that in his footwork and his past college basketball history. Im hopefull to see Costa back at some point, if not Kowalski should be coming back and let him finish out the yr. I really think where the real need is at Guard. I actually think Livings is decent wont be anything special but will get the job done. Now the other guard spot is another story. Id like to see a guy like Chance Warmack. Alot of the running problems are blamed on the OL well yes its a problem but the types of runs are a big part of that. Bad coaching plays a big part in this problem.
In 2013 i think Dallas needs to go out and pick up a guy to compliment and if needed fill in for Murray. A guy like Jonathon Dwyer is going to be a FA.
WR core id expect to see pretty much the same. Austin, Dez, Harris, Beasley. Then add somebody thru the draft. Continue to develope from within.
DL I agree with people thoughts on Hatcher, Crawford, and Lissemore being the core but another guy is needed IMO. To keep the competition going and with a new HC i think that happens. Ratliff needs to have his reps reduced to keep him fresh and theyve started to do that but i think its more because Brent has forced their hand. Guy is very disruptive against the run in the middle for opposing teams. I think Ryan has done a good job with this.
LB i think Dallas loses Spencer. Somebody is going to overpay because of his play as of late. But that could be Dallas' win situation. Ware, Lee, Carter, and ?. Out of these 3 i think Carter is going to eventually be the best of them all. Guy just has the overall game. Id like to see him blitzed more. I dont think ive actually seen him blitzed. I think in 2013 Carter takes the next step and becomes Patrick Willis. With Lee theyre going to own the middle of the field. No the question is what does Dallas do with the OLB opposite Ware? IMO is Shaun Phillips is allowed to leave SD he should be wearing a star on his helmet.
CB is set for a long time.
Safety is where im torn. Barry Church is only going to improve and thats obvious from the strides hes already made. And the contract he got is just a taste of what he could make. Not big but doesnt have to worry bout money for the immediate future. Sensabaugh Im hoping will be cut, he's decent but has too many holes for somebody his age, his ceiling is reached. Matt Johnson for somebody who has seen the trainers more than the field I have no idea why this guy is still on the team. Id love to see Dallas either go after a top FA or just draft the best safety available to them. William Moore(ATL) Dashon Goldson(SF) Ed Reed(BAL) would be the only guys id like to see Dallas sign via FA, But id rather see them go young in the draft. Kenny Vaccaro, Tony Jefferson, Eric Reid, Matt Elam, TJ Mcdonald, Robert Lester, Bacarri Rambo, deep draft for this posistion.
I have high hopes for this team in 2013, but if Garrett is back in 2013 ill be convinced Jerry is out of his mind. But im willing to bet that Garrett is already as good as gone.
