Looks fun, but safe?

That is child abuse IMHO.

The kid is clearly enjoying it, but that doesn't make much difference. You'd think he was swinging a toy doll around the room.

Does not look safe the way he is doing it. It is one thing to swing a kid around some, or lift them up high and so on but that is going too far imo. Either that kid will be double jointed if it keeps up or he will have some joint problems. Also looked like he was just a few inches away from hitting the ground, ceiling or TV.

I guess one could consider it abuse in the aspect that it puts the child in danger at the very least it is irresponsible and dangerous even if the intent is good and the child likes it.

Kudos to the irresponsible dad for using "Kung ** Fighting" as background music--a very underrated song.

I felt the heebie jeebies watching that. That's gotta run the risk of shaken baby syndrome.

Not cool.

Swinging your kid back and forth like he did at the very beginning of the video is one thing, but some of the more extreme stuff is WAY over the line.

How much would it take for one of the kids' shoulders to dislocate?

I'd like to see some really strong gigantic dude do that to the father and see how much he enjoys it.

The Chinese Gymnastics Federation, has just named this guy their new "Director of Player Development".

I did things like that with my oldest daughter. Not with my youngest, she hated it. My oldest loves roller coasters. You couldn't pay my youngest to ride one.

I never would have held on to one arm where her arm could be twisted like that. Nor the flipping back and forth with the arms twisting like that.

Some of the stuff I did was a bit different than that. I would hold her head in one hand and her butt in the other and spin her around and switch hands.

She loved to do the hold the legs and fall backwards between my legs. I would hold her legs and swing her down between my legs and then throw her up into the air in a flip and catch her on the way down. I would also hold her legs and swing her around my head rotating her left and right. We have video of it somewhere, but it isn't digital or I would load it for you to see.

The only part of that video that I disagree with is the holding one arm stuff and the flipping him back and forth towards the end. I can't think those things are good for the arms.

There's a classic toy monkey that does the same thing. Pretty sure it's not supposed to be replicated with humans. That kid's shoulders are either double-jointed or dislocated.

I stopped the Video. I would beat someone in the head if they ever handled my child or one of my nieces or my nephew like that.

I swing my son and daughter around in the yard a lot and they LOVE it. But, as mentioned by Hos, that stuff on the video with one arm and the flipping is way more than what I think is acceptable. I guess each parent does things their own way, but I really hope that kid doesn't get hurt.

You have to take a few points away as it sounded like it was in a foreign language...that or the audio was just screwed up.

I'd think that child was a bit too young for that kind of stuff...mostly because of joint development. I'd probably wait until the kid was at least out of diapers...for the child, and for my own well being. I'd hate to see a mid-air accident.

Pretty cool that the kid likes it though. If I ever have children, I hope they're that fearless.

All of my nieces and nephews used to love to be spun around in the yard. But by that I am talking about holding their hands and me spinning around and around (I don't get dizzy) and their legs flying out behind them. I never yet met a kid who didn't love that. It's a human merry-go-round.

My oldest was a daredevil like the kid in the video. Not afraid of anything. I just don't like the twisting arms stuff.

All 3 of my kids liked to be held and do the twist and shout. I would hold them out away from with fanny in right hand and left hand behind shoulders and I would sing twist and shout while twisting their tiny little butts in my hand.

Likewise both of my daughters love to be thrown in the pool. I have even pressed them above my head while standing on the side of the pool and flipping them into the water backwards.

I don't mind the "rough play" but I think the arms stuff he was doing is too much.

The only issue is the childs joints being disclocated.

My god-daughter had her shoulder dislocated at 2 yrs old. How? Her dad and her uncle were swinging her up and down over parking lot medians on the way into a Safeway.

It happens.

Really idiot idea on the fathers part. That is a very young infant.

Something about a not fully formed brain stem comes to mind, but ho hum, why worry about that?
