ended today. As long as the year is over, let's get a high draft pick.

Lets win our last three and take a pound of flesh from each opponent. Especially the eagles week 17.

These next 2 games are the last chances to get some final wins because I really don't think we have any chance in the last game against the Eagles. Cold weather, hostile environment, early kickoff...that stuff has never favored us

Hmmmmmm.....Cornerback, Oline, Dline, Linebacker, etc....hope we trade down. We need quality depth and are about 4-8 players away from being really good. (10-12 wins per year)

Lets win out if we can first, then we can worry about the draft.

don't you want something that can carry over to the next year? it matters more that we can win with Garrett now, so that next year these guys doin't start thinking oh well this team stinks anyways.....

who we gonna pick at #7 anyways? an Olineman? maybe but I think they can be got a little lower

I think the supposed talent on this team has been overrated...

.....you and about 90% of the football world. It's been overrated for a LONG time. You win IN THE TRENCHES, not at WR(Bryant), QB(Romo) and DE(Ware) Look no further than the Pats for proof of that.

I would like to win out.
We have 2 more home games left.
Washington and Arizona.
Eagles in the Linc.

This.

Draft positioning is relative. It will always be vastly more important picking players (plural) which upgrade the team than who anyone thinks may be available at the top of the draft.

Troy Aikman was drafted as a number one overall pick. While his naval commitment greatly influenced where and when he was drafted, Roger Staubach was drafted 129th overall in the 10th round.

Relative.

The draft can wait and it will take care of itself. The season is right now. Since tomorrow ain't promised to any of us, we may as well appreciate what's left of 2010.

At this stage, each remaining loss will gain us about 3 slots per round in the draft (see this thread: http://cowboyszone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=200277 -- incidentally I'm guessing we pick somewhere around 8 or 9).

Each remaining win will gain us much enjoyment, peace of mind, and confidence in the future. Wins are evidence of capability. Higher draft order is evidence of the lack thereof.

I'll take the wins.

win!! I want this team to continue to fight for every down, every play, every game. We need this mentality going into the next season, whenever that may be (hopefully next fall).

The cowboys don't know how to draft for depth. Let's just get the best possible player with whatever picks we end up with. Let's draft for starter status not backup status.

What? The Pats don't really put a huge priority on lineman in the draft... you can't go back and say hey, they really focus on lineman... they just do a really good job of evaluating players to fit their system...

I want blood and the Eagles. I could care less about draft position. Look at Dez. He was a top 5 talent of the last draft and we picked him up much later.

I'd personally rather win than aim for a higher draft pick. Otherwise, we enter the season next year in two drafts, the regular one and one for a coach.

Bottom line, I want to know if Garrett is the guy! Much, much, much rather not go into next year with a big question mark on the head coaching position.

Our job in the offseason should just be fitting a staff around Jason and making the best use of whichever pick we end up with in the 1st, along with adding a few free agents. One player a few spots higher is not going to make that drastic of a difference. And if we really like a guy up there we'll still have the fire power to reach up a few spots to get him.

The draft will take care of itself. It's more important to go into next year as a competitive club, evaluate the talent on the roster the rest of the year, and help determine if the next HC will be JG.

I'll take the wins. You don't have to get top 5 picks to shore up the o-line. That's their biggest on field weakness IMO.

This.

And what is it with people ok with losing to get a higher draft pick?
