That leaves 26 players on paper. There will be 53 players on the active roster.

The only thing that looks promising on paper is CeeDee and Pickens paired together as WR1 and WR2. Other than that we have players that can’t stay healthy and we’re going to be depending on a number of young players.

I won’t succumb to the nonsense that a first time head coach who was approached after the team couldn’t come to terms McCarthy and in 25 years of coaching with ten different employers never got a head coaching position is the answer. I won’t just accept a receiver another team was anxious to get rid of is the difference between contending and coming 3rd or 4th. I won’t mindlessly buy into a day three draft pick becoming another Gale Sayers.

Wanting something to happen, no matter how badly, will not make it so.

*Proven top 5-10 head coach.........................................not there
* Elite franchise QB ( top 5-10 ).....................................potentially
* At least 2 offensive top 5-10 players or ALL-PROs.....check ( Lamb and Tyler )
* At least 2 defensive top 5-10 players or ALL-PROs.....check ( Pasrons and Bland )

2-3 out of four isn't bad. In other words, this team will go as far as Dak and the coaching staff can take us.

The Steelers made the playoffs last season with Pickens & no QB.

Making the playoffs is no longer a big achievement. If you're slightly better than average, you got a shot. There have been six 9 win wildcards and an 8 win wildcard since the expansion to 7 playoff teams.

If this team stays relatively healthy, our draft isn't a bust plus Pickens. I think Dallas can win 10 games. Hell, Dak has the much needed two #1 WRs to throw to now.
