Looks promising on paper

Before the Pickens trade, this looked a rebuilding year.

I love the Pickens trade but there’s more work to do. I don’t see a playoff roster yet.

Of these, Shottenheimer is my least favorite move. I just have a bad feeling about it. Gives me JG vibes.

I hope I'm wrong.
He’s got a great opportunity for something he’s waited a long time for. All reports say he’s a great communicator which is a very important and necessary trait to have. We’ll find out soon enough.

Everyone roots for their favorite team every week. Everyone is not realistic about their favorite team’s chances of winning, every week.
So you do root for the Cowboys...good, but, not everyone does. Many on this board openly say it. They hope we lose, because they hate Jerry or Dak, etc. Good to see that you aren't one of those haters. Like I posted yesterday, they're is a big difference between realistic critics and ignorant haters.

No....I don't know Schottenheimer, but I've shared my Garrett story before.....in my eyes, he was not a good guy. Players, wouldn't give their all for him. I will say this, as much as I personally dislike him, I never rooted for him to lose. I'd much rather win and eat crow, than lose and say, I told you so, like many do. Madden generation.
I hope he does well. I just think he's too similar to Garrett in many ways.

I'm not rooting for him to fail. I want to win. I just question whether Shottenheimer is/was the best candidate for that job.

I was always a Kellen Moore fan...liked DQ too. I'd take either of them over Shottenheimer. But, I hope I'm wrong.

There is no doubt this is a playoff-talented team. If we can avoid key injuries and adjust to the new coaching staff, I like our chances to at least contend for a Wild Card
i question the play, not the supposed talent, of some these players . RT maybe on his last legs in Dallas.and there needs to be a plan B ..at both suspect OTs.

Teams just get hit big with injuries, but quality depth is a monster key whether short/long term.

provided what happens in the trenches on both side of the ball,.. and despite the addition of WR Pickens, i still think a great
might depends upon what we have in the backfield to add Dak.

Still feel very mightily that he needs a true difference maker at RB. .. imo, that doesn't have to be a pounding bell cow
as speed oriented RBs such as Gibbs, James Cook, Kamara, - i think it's about scheme designs, role-play and spots and touches per run/pass.
Do we have the player personnel ?... Do we have the coaches ?
