Looney Appreciation Thread

Watch him run down the field and take out two guys.

LOL....this was the 2nd quarter. He was out of gas the rest of the game....and was just hanging on in the 2nd half. Not sure what people are watching anymore. Sun shine pumpers out in full force today...

Yet we kept converting third down plays running up the middle in the 2nd half. In fact, did better converting those plays in the 2nd half.

You do realize Detroit was last in the league in stopping the run.. right? In the pre-season...they were giving up almost 200 a game. But hey...don't let me spoil your fun w/ facts. Enjoy your win provided by the NFL.

I think for the most part he has done an admirable job, it is not easy to replace a perennial pro-bowler. He isn't Frederick but he has been at least equal to most other starting Centers. I've e seen improvement week to week with him.

The run game was just as good in the 2nd half if not better than the 1st half. Pass protection was decent as well.

Looney played good today.

You need to reassess

I said it during the week, Joe Looney is playing better than expected.

He's no Frederick, but the Man has stepped up. I think he deserves credit.

LIkewise, Connor Williams looked better too. He may be getting a feel for NFL speed/power and doing what he has to do to adjust.

It won't be easy next week, he'll be dealing w/ some Clowney sometimes, but hopefully he steps up again.

But that OL was giving Zeke some great looks today

If you are so big on facts, where is the evidence he was struggling? You said he was gassed. Barely hanging on, right? Even if Detroit isn’t good against the run, since he got the job done, what “facts” do you have to support your claim?

And if you want to talk about defensive rankings coming into the game, Detroit was the top defense against the pass in the NFL, yet Dak still had time to throw in the 2nd half too.

?????????

You obviously have me confused for a Kellen Moore loving @Floatyworm

Fact is I have never said a bad word against Looney ever. I have always thought he was a very good backup and exactly the type of backup OL guy a team needs, he can play multiple positions and has shown to do a very good job.

Careful about where you point your gun, before you go pulling the trigger.
