Unless these types of guys go off in all star games I have no interest. You can find a big school guy with same/better production and same athleticism that is used to practicing against big school completion every day for 4 years.

Jerome went off at the senior bowl. Two picks and a tfl. I was more impressed with his tackle than the picks. I've never seen a db slide through an oline on a reverse like that.

Sorry, I would include how he looked in practices. I have no clue. Haven't had a chance to watch yet.

I had reservations about that but he looked at home with his big school peers in the senior bowl. Can't teach instincts.
Being serious though, you are absolutely right. It is one thing to be small school with physical tools. It is another to be small school and instinctual like that.

The player had I believe four INTs and a forced fumble in two consecutive all star games, one of which played with zero practice. He certainly cannot be accused of being schemed into the game plans. That was all on the fly, pure instincts and nose for the ball. I would take that player over the fastest and strongest. Can he find the football? Can he make plays?

I was in the Never Again camp after AOA as well and Jerome is also on the small side but he has position awareness/intelligence that AOA never had. He played some good football at the Senior Bowl and removed the question of competition level.

That said, with the depth at safety this year, Jerome would have to still be there in RD6. There are so many other safeties I'd rather draft.

He kind of has gone off in two consecutive all-star games. Then you dig into his college career, eighteen INTs, touchdowns on STs, forced fumbles, sacks.

It is pretty impressive. In a way, Phil Savage should be ashamed that he had to be a late call up due to injury.

This is a player you really then have to get in your building and really find out what makes him tick.
