Lost in this ugly victory...Mike Jenkins

is the play of CB Mike Jenkins. I know The Chief's offense isn't exactly the 2007 Patriots but he is doing such a great job in man to man coverage that teams are choosing to attack Newman instead. I hope he continues to improve because if Spencer starts to make plays and Ware gets healthy we could have a defense that can keep us in games while the offense works the kinks out.

He is our best corner. He still makes mistakes from time to time, but by years end he will be sick.

he gets abused by everyone but his mother. We no cornerbacks on this week. Mel Renfro could walk in with a cane and at least be the slot corner.

Where was the safety help on the inside? He ran a skinny post and Jenkins had the outside...safety should have come on the inside to help. Jenkins still got beat but the Safety needs to recognize that and help not come late on the play.

Bowe didnt abuse anybody on that play. Jenkins let him go on the inside route expecting the safety to get there, and he didnt (as usual)

Our safety play continues to be the worst in the NFL. If we had even AVERAGE safty play our defense might be adequate, because teams kill us in between the hashes.

100% agree. Hamlin should have been there. It seems that he has not been there to help out with those types of throws since 2007. He is always at least a step slow getting there or not there all together. The guy is killing me.

well sensabaugh was out and i think he has been playing pretty good this year. its hamlin that is total garbage.

it was #25 who is watkins...but hamlin's play isn't much better

Safety should have helped but I could have swore I saw a pretty clear push off by Bowe on the TD play in order to get some extra seperation.

Yeah, but when you release your guy to the safety, aren't you still at least supposed to run after him and try to make a play on the ball? Don't get me wrong, overall I think Mike Jenkins is a big plus and is going to be a good starting corner for us, but he got abused by Bowe on that play.

Yes, but Jenkins had the outside and the Safety comes in on the inside, the ball was thrown to the inside and the Safety was way too late to even help out. Jenkins was there but the receiver shielded him from making a play on the ball, the safety has to come in on the inside and make a play on the ball.

You may be right. I know there was another play today where I saw #26 come late.

I saw that too but this happens alot between the WR/DB throughout the game.
