Lost Organization

Do they have the required pass rush to pressure the QB to make man coverage effective? I recall a time when we stuck with man coverage and consistently got burned as the coverage could not hold up because the rush never got there.
The other way to look at it is if they can cover a second longer. If his scheme were to work. The pass rush may get to the QB.
It can work both ways.

But I understand what you mean. I noticed that too.

Because it's a buyers market on D-Coordinators isn't it? I bet Jerry can't even exit his home to get the newspaper without being inundated with Defensive Coordinator resumes.
Jerry needs to get busy making calls. He knows lots of coaches and ex-coaches. Start doing a better job, Jerry.

the 90's was a LONG time ago...

Jimmy had his run and his fingerprints
are all over 3 of 5 of JJ' trophy's.

The other two....JJ bought...

In 30-40 years when the 3rd level heirs to the Jones fortune are running things,
Dallas will eventually win another SB and the Jones family will issue a
statement saying they are proud of their accomplishments and
throughout all the strife from the fans and the media they just glad
they finally won doing things grandpa Jerry's way.

For the better part of 30 years, Jerry Jones has been a disgrace to his "toy" on the field football field.
He is a excellent marketing guy and has made the NFL billions. But as a owner/GM knowing how to build a
football team, ON THE FIELD, his is a bust. And the facts back that up. The Dallas Cowboys are the longest NFC
franchise not playing in a NFC Conference game.

Why? Answer: One Word >>>>> PRIDE

The bible clearly states in Proverbs 16:18 ~ Pride goes before destruction

Jerry will fire players and coaches but never ever look in the mirror. He will throw out his cute, carefully worded
cliches after each game, with the media drooling over his every word, to get access, but it is always the same
poison. He knows football ad he will get it fixed. 30 years later, the same poison still is being spit out like a cobra
and the fans, especially Dallas fans, continue to buy the hope (aka; FOOLS GOLD) Jerry continue to offer the
thirst starved Cowboys followers. After each wasted draft pick, Dallas fans renews that hope, only to rediscover,
yet again, the Cowboys are again a joke.

The Dallas draft is a huge issue. Jerry, with the media, sells how good the Cowboys have been drafting the past years,
only to be sold more pyrite. Look at the past several years how poor the 1st/2nd round picks have been.
Parson was easy the best selection but was traded away for $$$ issues PLUS was sold ( by Jerry) that in order to make a playoff run, Dallas has to stop the run. So off goes Parsons (which I agree with and will explain more soon) and bring in Clark to stop the run. Well, the run D is still horrible and has been bad for decades.
Jerry wants to sell jerseys ( Marketing) and DT/MLB/Centers/Guards and safeties are not big jerseys sellers. WRs/QB and RBs are.

Diggs/Bland have been a shell of themselves once they got their huge contracts. Bland had (6) pick 6 TDs, with Dan Quinn and I don't think Bland has 6 INTs total since then. Diggs is already washed up. And Parsons is not worth $40/million a season, let alone $46M. Parsons has 4 tackles and 2.5 sacks with the Packers. That is worth $46M?
But would Parson made Dallas D better? Maybe a tad but this team can't stop the run. Been a problem for so so long

So here we are yet again. Dallas wins against teams like the NY Jets and Dallas fans are once again, gas tank is full of optimism to only run out fuel the following week by another weak team like Carolina. Seen this scenario played over for decades and Jerry continues to be the #1 Forbes Sports Franchise, which validates the true Superbowl Jerry craves:
The Franchise SuperBowl because winning is not important, Business is.
Fans care about winning. Players, media and Jerry Jones #1 care is the business. Squeeze as much profit out of the
sheep (aka: fans) as possible. Play games over seas, have double header Monday Nights, pay-per view Thursday Nights,
Red Zones, shove Bad Bunny down your throats, messages in the endzones, move the NFL draft all around, etc....
All this is for more profits. It is a business, winning following and why Jerry will never replace himself as GM. Why should he? He is #1 with Forbes.

So until this organization can prove they can get to a NFC Conference game and now spit out endless cliches,
just watch this once dominant franchise, as entertainment. Like watching a TV series or movie.
Stop buying "Hope and Change" because it is only FOOLS Gold/pyrite. But if you continue to soak your emotions
into this, your return will be zero as what the worth of pyrite is. In 2035 and beyond, Dallas will still be where they are
right now because Jerry is grooming his son Stephen as Al Davis has done with his son with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Raiders can move but they are still the also once dominate franchise, as Dallas, and is also a disgrace.
Jerry was fortunate to buy a football team that has been in the fastest growing market over the last 30 years.

Blah. Blah. Blah.

Just fix the darn Defense and get a much better D-Coordinator. This team has the Offense that can compete. Fix the Defense and pair it up with this Offense. This team could then beat any other team.

Very simple. Why isn't Jerry firing Eberflunk and bringing in some other D-Coordinator who can immediately take over and improve this Defense?

That's what everyone should be screaming for right now. This season can still be saved, but Jerry needs to make such hard decisions immediately.
There is literally zero chance this defense could be fixed midseason.

They are probably 3 or 4 starters short of fielding a league average unit. You don't fix that in a few weeks mid season. This is the type of stuff our GM should be doing in the offseason, not in week 6 after his obviously flawed roster has imploded.

Very true, yet here we are. Something needs to be tried.

Who knows? What would you rather do? Nothing? Keep Eberflunk? Is that what you prefer?
My preference was Robert Saleh but since we are stuck with Eberflus - keep him and continue. Instead of trying to shuffle people in and out with no continuity. What the hell did you expect when you traded away the only pass rush you had on a defense that is largely predicated on turning the ball over by pressuring the QB?

How do you keep a team intact if you overpay $47 million for only 1 player in Micah?

So stupid.

Why are you wasting my time?

this is for people who dont listen to what Jerry said and did.

This has nothing to do with pride, if you think that, you think Jerry wants a SB. That is wrong, we know tihs because Jerry told us exactly what he was doing and HOW he was doing it.

We are no longer the Dallas Cowboys Football team, we are teh Dallas Cowboys Empire. Simply means, its Jerrys playground, it amkes him money. The stadium, jerseys, anything and everything. There is no Super Bowl goal. The goal is to great a great gravy train. Jerry told everyone. "I do this to work wtih my family and provide for them" He says straight to your face. hes honest about it. its not about winning. the blue print is a gravy train, a gold mine, whatever you want to call it. the end result, make the family money and do what they want, there is no standard. you want to blow a few million signing players that make you laugh for a season, have at it, need a new yacht, up the ticket prices, poor people cant come anyway. The stadium sells to corporations.

If you cant understand that, you ll be lost when it comes to the Cowboys.

This organization is the Titanic. All we keep doing is rearranging the chairs on the sinking ship. As much as I like Shotty and the position coaches, I'm not sure it can be saved anytime soon. The shame of it is Dak,Pickens are being wasted.

Heck I would even hire Ryan from the TV set. At least it would be entertaining.

I posted this in another thread, but here it is again:
The fate of last season, this season, and years to come was sealed the minute Jerry gave Dak that ridiculous contract on the opening day of last season.
No matter what they said to the media, Dak's teammates were through with him. They had seen him choke too many times in big games, and they knew they were never going to a Super Bowl with him.
So the players who could began looking for security, demanding extensions. If their careers were going to be wasted, they at least wanted job security.
Now you are seeing the intangibles; this is what happens when players no longer believe in what they are doing.
The fate of the Cowboys is sealed as long as Dak Prescott is the Cowboys quarterback.
