Lost Taco?

I wasn't really focused on Taco but I didn't hear his name called in a good way all night long. I didn't notice him making any plays. Have we lost a Taco?

I watch him a bit and I don't think he was bad by any stretch. But it's time to basically admit he's a longer term project and not anyone we should count on this season to fix our pass rush woes.

Part of it is just the reality of the Cowboys right now.

They are built to win both now and in the future. Pass rush was a big need heading into this offseason, but you have a FO that has shifted their belief away from star free agents to fill holes to now drafting. So, and certainly it's an unfair expectation, when a team can win now but won't supplement the team in FA, fans count on players from the draft being immediate impact players to fix holes highlighted by the previous season's failures. If we were a 5 win team last year, I suspect rookie expectations would be a bit easier.

The 2016 draft probably doesn't help with expectations either.

Mayowa probably has dirt on Marinelli. That or he has his patented crush on another nobody i.e. "Golden Cock" or Joey Ivie. Marinelli sucks. Period. Guy's drifting into "Kiffin waters"

We wouldn't be so impatient to let rookies develop if Jerry understood the importance of free agency. Bring in players who can play while others develop and learn what they are supposed to be doing. We need veteran leadership more than most teams with the coaching staff we have.

It's said to be not serious but who knows. But it's another reason why this guy was probably a tough sell for Dallas besides not being an ideal fit as a 4-3 DE. His extensive injury history.
