Lots of interesting Cowboys stuff that I haven't seen posted...

It might on the practice field, but if he was being negative to him on the phone on draft day, that seems to indicate he really didn't think much of Ratliff from the beginning.

Parcells generally talks down all his players except for the really talented ones (like Ware).

Have you heard him on the phones during draft day?

He'll get downright giddy.

I feel, and have actually posted it on this board I think, that it happened when we were down 10 to KC.

Brooking was on the sideline firing up the defense, Witten was on the sideline firing up the offense. Both were convincing their mates that "don't give up, don't let up, we will not lose this game."

We don't normally see that from the Cowboys, .. we normally would lose that game.

But we fought back, tied the game and took it to overtime. And then we litterally "ripped" victory from the Chiefs, stuffing them on defense and then hitting the big play on offense to win the game.

I 'thought' I noticed something right there that day, and our two wins since convinced me that I 'did' see something. This team is different this year.

Hold on tight, it's gonna be a great ride!!

getcha popcorn ready?

That was my impression as well.

I wish there was a way to keep Brookings' fire and intensity on the field on 3rd down,,, it might get the defense off the field sooner...

You know I was listening to Galloway and Company yesterday and they were talking about leaving Carp and Brooking on 3rd downs for the nickel. Now I don't know if that was an actual gameplan kinda thing, or if they were just talking about it, but it didn't seem like a bad idea. Especially against the eagles with McCoy/Westbrook in the backfield.

oh my GOD would you just stop?

call me a realist but I loved every word in the original post damn it

just as damn annoying as DallasEast after the Tampa game... "ahahaha Roy Williams caught a long TD, how do you TO lovers like him now hahaha" bull****...

I loved TO on this team and I am a supporter of Roy Williams as well... but according to you black and whiters that can't be possible

you think realists are dividing the board but you're encouraging it with stupid snide comments like the above quoted.
Golly gee wilikers, that was...

--one, two, three, four, five, six ...

7 1/2 weeks ago.

heh. Well, unless I skipped it, there wasn't any laughter. Plus, it was during the game and not after. Here's the actual quote:

"No. No. No.

Terrell Owens lovers. Listen up.

Roy Williams can't score.

Roy Williams can't get open.

Don't change your tune, okay?"

Now, anyone acknowledging how Williams has struggled with his timing with Romo since, could have used that tidbit to their advantage...

( and probably will now *wink wink* :laugh1: )

--IF they had taken just a little time searching for what I actually said. That rather tame (knowing me) comment touched a [strike]seven week long[/strike] nerve.

hmm.

Stupid me thinks that Williams and Romo are gonna click again this season.

Maybe they will.

Maybe they wouldn't.

Still, just for you, should they should enjoy any sort of success down the road, rest assured that particularly "insufferable" ( ) utterance will seem less than nothing by comparison.

Trust me. :)

Been checking out a lot of vids and audio lately and here are some trinkets that I think some of you may find interesting - All links are at the bottom of the post.

The origin of the "Hulk Smash":

Ratliff stated that it started out in college. He just heard the news that his wife was pregnant, made a goal line stand and it was something he "just did". Once he got to the NFL, he and his daughter were watching the incredible hulk and she looked up at him and said, "daddy, that looks like what you do". It took off from there.

The turning point of the season:

According to a few of the players, it was the overtime in KC. Brooking, while walking off the field with Ware after the KC win stated emphatically to Ware, "That defined our season right there". Bradie James, amongst others reiterated that, "from that point, we knew, we had the confidence in ourselves".

Parcells set Ratliff's fire:

On draft day when Parcells talked with Ratliff on the phone he said, "I guess we're gonna draft ya" and once Ratliff got there Parcells told him, "you don't even belong in this league" and "you shouldn't even be on this team". Ratliff says that plays in his head everyday and keeps his fire burning.

Romo's "Houdini Move" for the TD:

All 4 rushers that Tony avoided on that play were all on the ground like a bunch of rag dolls - 3 of them fell down simultaneously while trying to get Romo.

Brooking has a different mentality - an unmatched fire and passion:

I would highly suggest listening to this one with the link below, the way they describe Brooking just can't be put into words, but for now...

Sham asked Ratliff who else, since he's been here, has had the kind of fire Brooking has?

Ratliff states, "there has never been anyone like him with that fire and intensity. Don't get me wrong we've had leaders, but there's more than one way to lead."

and, "Keith is just intense, I know I keep bringing up that word, but intense is an understatement for Brooking". Crayton chimes in with "You would have to be there to see it".

Also, Ratliff states, "In practice, you back off a bit physically but stay strong mentally. But he (Brooking) has this game-like mentality during practice".

They both also bring in statements while laughing about Brooking head-butting everyone with his helmet off; Brooking always playing in your face with such passion; Summing him up, "he just has a different mentality"; And how it fires guys up and everyone follows him.

Ware had 3 guys blocking him and still got the sack:

I can't find the vid for this one but I'll post it if I can find it again. But below are all the links with the appropriate times.

And I really wish I could find a few particular Romo vids from before the season. Those explain so much in many different regards. They show just how hard Tony worked this offseason to continue to improve in many different areas. The results are showing more and more (i.e a 1.7 int percentage and so much more). If I find those vids I'll add on - I always prefer to link when I post.

Also, big thanks to Shango and DCFanatic from the dallascowboyshow.com and other contributors for the vids - Including the Cowboys' official site
