Former Eagles head of pro personnel Louis Riddick was on today discussing Johnny Manziel and the Cowboys. Cowboys section starts at 3:20.

Recap:
Problems in running game is with inside 3 players, going against 34 and dominant NT in Poe, already hard to run the ball, but Frederick isn't a powerful player, Mackenzie has poor lower body power, Waters off the street. Poe and rest of linemen got consistent penetration, are Cowboys are going to struggle against good 3-4 fronts. Thinks they will get better but will never be dominant. Demarco is a hard runner, but is very straight line, can't make people miss. Has to gather himself to make sharp cuts, so he couldn't get through open running lanes. That is why he sometimes looks like his head is down and he's stumbling into linemen. Window of opportunity opens really fast for running backs. Dunbar he thinks might be able to do that, but Tanner is like Murray. He doesn't think it will get that much better, and will need to rely on pass game. In Chiefs game doesn't understand why they stopped throwing to Dez late in the game; Tony just kept looking for Witten over and over, and Andy Reid knowing that jumped everything they knew Witten would run. Dez kept beating Flowers the entire game.
Riddick thinks there is no purpose in running if you're not doing it successfully, you have to move the ball. If Demarco wants more carries, his YPC has to go up. Demarco is not the type of runner that can make something happen if it's not there (he's not Barry Sanders or CJ Spiller).
Against Rams: Falcons abandoned run, Julio Jones went to work against Janoris Jenkins, thinks Dallas will go similar route. Thinks Cowboys did good job in pass protection 2nd half of Chiefs game, and if they exploit matchups, see who's on Dez instead of forcing the ball to certain players, they'll do well. Right Tackle of Rams out, Kroy Biermann was running circles around him. Knowing that Dallas has 2 good pass rushers and Ware can move around, expects Ware to rush from defensive left because there's no way their new RT can handle him. If Rams abandon run or get behind, expects Ware to put up big numbers this week.
