Love the position coaches

Specifically Sanjay Lal, Kris Richard and of course Gary Brown *cough* Marinelli
so much emphasis on fundamentals with the young receivers and dbs

Only two more bozo's ta can and we are complete overhaul!

How do you know anything about them?

I'm glad the Cowboys got new coaches to replace ones that were underperforming. It seems all of them are upgrades especially at WR and DB.

Sanjay Lal is a journeyman coach. He's never done anything special.

Pretty much all long-time position coaches that never rise to the coordinator level can be called "journeymen".

Possibly. Makes you wonder why he's bounced around the league in the same position for over a decade though. Different doesn't always mean better.

I definitely think he is better than Dooley as he is at least teaching technique.

I have no idea what Dooley ever did except cower in fear when Bryant would throw a tantrum.

Changing the subject, I did find this quote from Clarence Hill's practice observation interesting:
The Cowboys will focus on a receiver-by-committee, stressing fundamentals under new coach Sanjay Lal. The group drew the ire of coach Jason Garrett on Thursday for focusing too much on technique and not running fluidly.

“I know we are counting steps but we have to ... run,” Garrett barked. The Cowboys used a lot of different receiver groups with quarterback Dak Prescott, including undersized receivers Tavon Austin and Cole Beasley working at times with the first team with Allen Hurns. Cowboys offensive coordinator Scott Linehan said all the receivers can run routes from different spots, which should make the offense more versatile and unpredictable. As long as they are running and not counting steps.

So the young group is obviously trying to count the steps as Lal has instructed. Now Garrett is yelling at them to simply just run faster.

new coaches? might not care for him or his style.

for some reason Seattle fans seemed glad KR was gone. Who knows. Besides some coords are just better coords and not all stick around for a long time. Look how many moved around this year.

Wait and see, Lal is going to shine for the Cowboys. He's going to do for our receivers exactly what his Cowboys predecessors didn't do......he's going to teach them how to run routes........properly.
Now if we can just get a little help scheme-wise from Garrett and Linehan.......

found a camp video source and watched the drills mostly fundamental stuff plus whatever else we have access to from earlier
just them talking about their goals etc

i respect your opinion on the subject but i already like what ive seen over guys like Dooley
its more hands on and seems more focused plus lots of youth

dont like how Kris still has Jourdan rolling with the 2s but other than that

Oh great! Lal's trying to teach technique and Garrett and Linehan are killing it. Then when the results turn out to be the same ol same ol, Garrett can throw Lal under the bus to save his own sorry rear end.
I say give Lal his head and see what he can do with these receivers.
