Love the Vickers signing!

I hate seeing Fiammetta go, but you just can't trust the guy to stay healthy.

Totally agree. Vickers acquisition was a rock solid signing. Fiammetta got us excited about having a true FB lead-blocking the run game back into existence. Vickers will be even better. Very happy to get him.

Texans took a chance cutting him to save some $$$ -- hoping to resign him as I read the story -- and lost him, to our benefit. Our scouts/ coaches/ whoever-all's keeping an eye on talent did themselves proud getting him.

Vickers is a great signing.

He's better than Fiammetta

Depends on what kind of FB you're looking for. Fiammetta is more versatile. He can actually help out in the receiving game. Even run it here and there more than Vickers ever would.

But as far as a straight line lead blocker, I'll take Vickers. Add in the injury situation with Fiammetta and just the nasty demeanor Vickers brings with him and this is a pretty easy decision.

I liked the signing, I thought we would keep Fiammetta but Vickers is built more like a fullback

I really like the signing.

Fiammetta was very good when healthy during the middle of the season.

However, he missed quite a few games with a mysterious ailment - the same ailment that caused his former employer to let him go after only two years in the league.

I really do suspect Fiammetta was having concussions but tried to hide it from the team. I also suspect that if we brought him back it wouldn't be long before the impacts at the FB position caused him to go down with another mysterious ailment that eludes medical diagnosis.

At the end of the day he couldn't be counted on to play and that is why he wasn't brought back. Even if he never ends up having that "mysterious illness" again I can't fault the FO for making this move. We need a guy that we can count on Sundays and Fiammetta is not that guy right now.

I wish Fiammetta good luck but I really think he should retire before he scrambles his brain up beyond repair.

After watching that, I see exactly why they got this guy.

i like. we need more players that wear their emotions on the sleeve.

One of the most under-rated signings we have made... the guy is a blocking beast...

We needed red zone running ability. It just arrived in the form of Mr. Vickers.
