Loved McVay calling plays from the sideline

It is laughable that you think Jason would have been detailed, he sucks in everything
It’s mindless criticism to simply say “he sucks at everything”. I agree he isn’t a high quality head coach, but to suggest he couldn’t discuss plays and break them down is nonsense. He may not be as sharp as McVay in that regard, but that doesn’t mean he is clueless

He is clueless, that is why he is a mediocre head coach

Clueless couldn’t even be a scrape the bottom of the barrel head coach in the NFL, much less a mediocre one. Clueless wouldn’t even get a job as a position coach.

Clueless is mindlessly saying things like “he sucks at everything”. Garrett could certainly break down a play with more detail and clarity than that. Lol

The straight football acumen between all head coaches in this league is very close. All are very smart football wise when it comes to X’s and O’s. What separates them is their willingness to take risks. Belicheck will play a WR at CB or be willing to let your TE be the best receiver on the team.

Linehan and Kellen Moore are perfect example. Linehan taught Kellen the nuances of NFL football from their time in Detroit to here. But Kellen is willing to be more creative (supposedly) and use more college concepts. Linehan knows them he just didn’t like using them because they have elements of risk like exposing the QB or spread can leave less guys to protect.

Most coaches including Garrett just want to play the percentages and believe the team that makes the fewest assignment/mental errors wins. Belicheck and McVay believe the team that makes the most plays win.

Personally I like the playcalling coming from up in the booth where the OC can see the whole field and defensive lineup...
I would think you could get a better flow of the game from the sideline
A better view of the defense from the booth
