Snips:

"Word has been out there that the guys aren't working real hard," said Chris Landry, a former NFL scout who now works as a consultant for nearly a dozen teams. "It's been talked among scouting circles for a while. It's more: Buyer beware.

"It gives (LSU) a bad image. It gives it an attitude of just: 'What the hell is going on over there?'"

Landry said the problems started when those players emerged as NFL prospects, and their work habits slipped. He said LSU's coaches failed to push those players, and as a result, they adopted poor approaches as acceptable.

"The program has slipped from a discipline and work-ethic standpoint," Landry said. "They're not nearly as demanding on them."

Maybe things are too country-clubbish under Miles, unlike with Saban?

I have a better statement. The Kansas City Chiefs draft all LSU players. Well at least that's more true of a statement.

The Chiefs got what they deserved in drafting Tyson Jackson #3 overall. I remember being floored when his name was announced. Never was a big fan of Glenn Dorsey either; he was miscast as NT in the 34 they were running. I think they have him at DE now and he's playing a bit better. Bowe seemed to blossom last season.

This is kind of a silly premise really. Every college you name has churned out good players and duds. Looking at LSU in recent years you'd immediately call out JaMarcus Rusell as one end of the spectrum, but last year Dwayne Bowe surely fits the other end. On the Cowboys alone we have a couple of guys who contribute very well.

I hope people don't subscribe to this as a reason to bypass a Patrick Peterson. In recent years Miami hasn't produced Andre Johnsons or even Vinny Testaverde's either. That wouldn't stop me from drafting Brandon Harris. It wouldn't even slow me down.

They weren't playing the 3-4 when they drafted Dorsey or Jackson to my knowledge. However both have played well at DE in a 3-4, not that their individual stats would make that evident.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the Chiefs were going to the 34 when the drafted Jackson, because it was Pioli's first draft. People were comparing that to Belichick taking guys like Seymour and Ty Warren in the first (though not as high as #3, for sure).

Dorsey I always thought was overrated, even in college. Never got the super-prospect evaluation on him, even though he was good at LSU.

B James and M Spears - never have been big fan of either

:lmao:

I know one guy that absolutley hates B James

but I keep on telling him that he leads the team in tackles almost every year

an that a telling him that there not R Lewis on every corner

the only thing about Bradie James is I wish he had more speed for Coverage

Marcus Spears has hardly lived up to his draft stock
He hasn't been a disappointment though. One of these days people will correlate the difference between 3-4 and 4-3 as it pertains to statistics.

I fully understand the statistical relevance of the 3-4 when it comes to evaluating linemen. My issues come from the way he plays on Sunday, not his lack of eye popping stats. He hasnt been a bust, but he certainly hasnt lived up to his first round billing.

James has exceeded the expectations one typically has of a player picked where he was, though. He isnt a world beater (and is overrated by some here IMO) but he is solid.

Laron Landry isn't bad... but he isn't as good as his measurables indicated he should be.

For a player drafted at #20, yes he has been a disapointment.

They started running the 3-4 that year...Thats why they drafted Jackson.

IDK, I guess I just expected a lot more when he was picked 20th overall.
I love irony.

I believe you are right, they did switch the year he arrived.
